Something mostly different, but not entirely:

I've been mowing a church lawn for about 20 years.

At one point in the summer a few years ago the lawn got unusually dry. At that time, and basically only then, I could see in the ground the footprint of where a sign had been a couple decades earlier (they moved it to a different spot).

Cool story, I know.
