Parking Pass Issue

So I have a guaranteed spot in the Locust Street garage, or no? Do they just sell the # of spots left that weren't purchased for the season?

How does that work? Can you get a pass ahead of time? It would suck royally to prep and pack a tailgate then not have a spot.

My buddy that I share tickets with was a surgeon at UT and has donated a large amount over the years, and all that is being basically ignored this year. It's BS
The people checking parking passes at the entrance can also collect $20 cash for parking. There's no guarantee that there will spots for those paying cash but I've never seen it full.

What about for those that paid $175 for parking?

Thanks. I couldn't tell whether to get preemptively pissed or not. 😁
Hahaha, yeah, no need. If I had to guess, there is a contract somewhere that allows for certain number to remain open...be mindful, they also service downtown businesses. I've parked there for years, love it, don't want to change....never had a problem.

So ridiculous. Unbelievable to pay that kind of money and not get a spot to park. We've been moved around over the years... G10, 11th st, 16th st, and Locust garages, a short stint by the water rx plant (easy access in and out but long walk and stinky).
Was there for 2 years, not ideal for tailgating.

Anyone give me some info on the locust street garage? Just got a parking pass there. Seems like a long distance to walk?

There is some distance, but not nearly as hilly, is that even a word?! What's nice about locust, you can park and go to Market Square, a block away and eat whatever you want. Plenty of options. If it's an early game, you can walk up and eat after the game, getting out and to the interstate is a breeze after traffic is gone. Also, while traffic is bad, to me, it's less hassle to get to the interstate after the game. I love it! I did get, I think G12 one year, considered an "upgrade", I opted to go back to locust the following year.

If you all have downloaded the app to access digital games tickets, the digital parking passes should now be in your account via app. I accessed game day tickets and looked the other day and parking passes were added.

From the app, save them in a digital wallet. That way you can just open the wallet on game day and not have to rely on accessing the app near stadium, which for many people internet access doesn't work near stadium.

My carrier is Verizon, which is supposed to be the best and a sponsor of UT athletics and my Hi-Tech expensive ass phone doesn't get internet service around or in Neyland. Literally makes no sense.

I have only saved the tickets and parking pass to the first game from the app to digital wallet and will likely just do this for each game individually. I am not having trouble with the process yet, but I know this will be a MAJOR cluster, headache and issue for thousands of Vol fans. I hate the new process personally, not necessarily for myself, but for many others. Just think if your phone dies or malfunctions, because they do, you are screwed.

What do you do if people are sitting in your seats and your phone dies or malfunctions in stadium and you can't show your digital tickets to prove the seats are yours? We have had the same seats for many, many years and often folks are sitting in our seats. Mostly because they are lost and not familiar with the sections at Neyland, but some just sit wherever, don't care, and look at you as the bad person for claiming your assigned seats.

UT has to come up with another option for folks, especially those technologically disadvantaged. Whether disadvantaged because of age or resources, or technical difficulties with phone....

Agree about Verizon service at neyland. Since 2019 have had both digital and paperl tickets and no problem with either other than vivid seats when trying to sell a couple. This year digital only since only 2 tickets. Always use Student gate and never had a problem. Am concerned with those with digital parking based on Titans experience with digital. They have gone back to paper hanging after using both digital and window sticker last year. Never had a problem with window sticker although we always got there early,

Sad thing is having family in upper college administration for years they can practically do anything they please and get by with it. You’d be amazed at all the backstabbing for the higher paid jobs at UT public universities the worst . It’s pitiful to me if they screw you over with your loyalty imagine what they do to average Joe.

That could be possible. IDK....

**Edit** I do remember her asking me what he drove. .

I used to get multiple cars in lot due to the attendant at the entrance. Just paid attendant $20 bucks per car. Had my own pass this was when I had people come in town for games. This was lot between football complex and Neyland.. short walk. Lots never fill up......or used to never fill up.. since I've not been to a game in 7 years things may have changed.

Parking has been based on what you donate each year for several years, like 10 years, not what you donate for your lifetime. They changed that process long ago.

Yeah I know. He was still making the yearly contribution until the price changes this year. He had numerous conversations about our stay changes. UT never emailed or mentioned anything about the new parking pass process.

We are working on a couple of options. If we can't secure parking, we are going to request a refund on our tickets due to the screw job.

You are gonna skip the games because you can't park where you want to?

If you paid the $175 you should have your parking passes in your allvols account now.

Personally, I really like the new ticketing format. Even if you lose your phone, you can still log in from another device and access your tickets/passes. Used to be that if you lost your paper tickets, you’re out of luck. OR, if they’re just using QR codes, then people could take screen grabs and sell them, and someone might use that code before you. Once again, you’d be out of luck. Now, as long as you can access your allvols account, you’re good to go.

To my knowledge, there is no available garage or lot that is amenable to tailgating with a reasonable walk to the game. And yes, I feel that the university owes us a parking spot, given the tens upon tens of thousands we have given over the last 15 years. This was their mistake.

Side note. Parking is still free at state, market, and Dwight kessell garages. The trolley picks up at Krutch park and drops you off at the hill. I believe the cost is 5$. That all could change.

If wanting to screw them back is more important to you than sitting in Neyland and watching Tennessee football, then it's the only option you have I guess.

I've left tickets at home and they were able to print them at the gate 21 ticket booth. Had to give ID and answer questions but got it done. Been back about 10 years ago.

Interesting. I never knew that was possible.

Had to hike from gate 10 all the way back to Cumberland Avenue once, but made it in time for kickoff. Wife was ready to kill me.

That’s how I’ve been doing it for years. It’s easier to sit in a bar at Market Square than plan a tailgate and fight traffic to get out.
