Didn't see him play? Guy played well at times. Had awful awful coaching under the post-Helton era. Absolutely awful scheme for him. He would have actually flourished under Helton. Not saying a top college QB, nor an NFL stud. But he's enough to be on a practice roster. No small deal....given it's the freakin NFL.

Happy for the guy. He's as tough and VFL as they come. It's the haters that should turn in their fan cards. Pathetic folks that couldn't throw a ball 15 yards. Smdh
He was an absolutely horrible QB and a program killer...that being said I wish him no ill will and I have always admired his toughness.

That is just the f'n truth.

Do we have any HR people or hiring managers in the house?

From a new employee perspective, what's the best way to negotiate an increased salary and time off without coming off the wrong way? I've never worked for a type of company or in a position to negotiate, nor am I a pushy or salesman type. Need some good tips.

Don't want to burn any bridges and, honestly, I'd probably take the job even if they didn't budge an inch. But I think they will a bit and I'd like to at least try.

"Absolutely horrible" QBs don't see the field and throw a TD in the NFL...😑

"Absolutely horrible" QBs are...
Nick Stephens
Justin Worley (sorry Worleybird)
AJ Suggs
Rick Clausen

Even Andy Kelly threw more INTs in his career than TDs and NOT ONCE threw more TDs than INTs in a season. Had a career 129 qbr and not once surpassed 132...while JG had 2 seasons in the mid 140s. But AK had elite defenses and rushing games...so people will see him as being better. It's crazy. Meanwhile, JG was matched with AWFUL OLs, defenses, and mediocre RBs...and awful coaches. He did what he could and tried, often shellacked and sacrificing his body.

Fun fact:

Hooker has the highest UT qbr all-time so far. His 181 QBR as a UT qb is a whopping 24 points higher than 2nd place.

And it was only year 1 😅😂

Just imagine if we had Heupel's mind back 15 years ago to save Fulmer and his high-talent defenses. Man, what a deadly combo that would've been.

JG hasn't thrown a TD in the NFL. All of the QBs you listed could throw a TD in the fourth quarter of a preseason game.

We are talking about warm bodies out there while the coaches watch the clock more than the field.

Ok one more "what if" scenario...

What if we had stuck it out with Fulmer+Clausen just a couple more years?

Look at Wake Forest's offense since he arrived:

2014 - 15 ppg
2015 - 17
2016 - 20
2017 - 35
2018 - 33
2019 - 32
2020 - 36
2021 - 41 👀

Now, our 2008 defense was fantastic. Only allowed 17 ppg. Haven't seen a defense that effective since then. Now couple it with Clausen's offense and by maybe 2010 or 2011 we could have been rolling.

Obviously love where we are now, but I bet we could have avoided 10+ years of misery and turmoil had we given Clausen a couple more years. Especially with our ability to recruit vs at Wake Forest. And had Fulmer landed that kid that ended up at Clemson.

Out of all of that, I knew someone would nitpick one sentence lol. Preseason vs exhibition, whatever. Let's just say no "absolutely horrible" football players even sniff the NFL. That's ridiculous. The greatest players on earth are out there.. to even get there isn't for absolutely horrible folks. Nor do they post 145 qbrs in the freakin SEC.

Lol dude

JG was as much of the awful as anyone I mean do you seriously remember actually watching him play?

Most of his completions were check downs and deep jump balls to Palmer, Callaway and Jennings who START for the Chargers, Saints and 49ers currently. The guy had literally two and a half good games at best. The rest was a total disaster or they played it extremely safe with him and didn't ask him to do anything. The Mizzou game he dominated. Half of the UK game and half of the USCjr game in 2019. That is the only time he played remotely well.

Wow he had some easy play action passes where he didn't have to think against third stringers and completed passes.

You're just trying to be nice.

Whats scary is if we had a QB with a pulse under Pruitt he might still be here 😬

Just be reasonable and ask. Coming from someone who has to make hiring decisions no one wants to have to start that process over if they already have a qualified candidate basically locked in.

This is Icefields Parkway. I was driving so didn't get more pictures. (Technically, a few of the pix I posted of Jasper and will post of Banff are on this road.)

It's the road between Jasper and Banff and is 1 of the 4 most beautiful roads we've driven on. And we've driven on some beautiful roads. The other 3 are:

-Blue Ridge Parkway/Skyline Drive
-Going to the Sun Highway in Glacier NP,
-Million Dollar Highway, which runs from Ouray to Silverton and is by far the best part of the San Juan Scenic Byway in Colorado.

Beartooth Highway/Chief Joseph Scenic Byway Loop in Montana and Wyoming isn't far behind.
