President Joe Biden - Kamala Harris Administration

Politico Editor Tries to Revive Biden in a Last-Ditch Effort

As President Joe Biden seems to be on the verge of becoming a lame duck President, the liberal media is wasting no time coming to his rescue. John Harris, the founding editor at Politico, has written a piece praising Biden.

The headline reads: “Wait, Is Biden a Better President Than People Thought?” Harris claims that Biden could earn a “solid B” by the end of his first term, adding that Biden seemed to be “failing his class for most of the semester.”

The article states [paraphrased] to continue receiving food assistance, non discrimination policies must be updated.

If Texas don't like the demand, quite taking the handout. The USDA is in the right on this one.

It's my understanding that the state of Tennessee is filing a lawsuit as well or appealing. It seems the federal government is weaponizing agencies.

Leftists Really Don't Like Lauren Boebert's Proposal for More Time to Read Bills Before Voting on Them

Colorado Republican Lauren Boebert has a stellar idea; lawmakers should do their jobs…but it would appear that many leftists have an issue with this.

You’d think being an elected member of congress would involve a lot of reading, seeing as how the proposed bills often affect the people they serve directly, but you’d be absolutely wrong. The number of things lawmakers don’t read is pretty shocking. They just vote yes or no and call it a day.

To put how scary this is into perspective, in 2021, over 9,800 bills were submitted to congress. Eighty-five of these bills were signed into law. Some of them had an extremely large price tag, and it’s safe to say that many elected officials didn’t even read them before voting on them. Also in 2021, Forbes noticed the hesitance of politicians to even talk about having to read the bill, noting that if politicians aren’t reading bills then we don’t really have a representative republic.

It’s a problem that even New York Democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez sees as an issue and spoke out about it after House Rules Committee Chairman James McGovern (D-MA) refused to hand out paper copies of the 5,593-page bill to pass the $1.4 trillion COVID relief bill.

This is why Congress needs time to actually read this package before voting on it. Members of Congress have not read this bill. It’s over 5000 pages, arrived at 2pm today, and we are told to expect a vote on it in 2 hours,” she complained.

It was one of the few times she and Ted Cruz agreed on anything…before she accused him of attempting to murder her.

Boerbert took to social media to upload a public proposal, including restoring certain rules that would make it “the people’s house” instead of “Pelosi’s house” where she will no longer be able to function as a “super legislator.” She also suggested reinstating the “Holman Rule” which would allow legislation to reduce the salary of or fire specific federal employees.

Boerbert then proposed something that should be common sense. Introducing bills in the dead of night and then demanding they be voted on that day needs to come to an end, and she proposed a minimum of five days between the bill’s introduction to the vote on it. She also noted that if the bill was an emergency and needed to be passed immediately, then it should require a two-thirds vote. She also suggested earmarks be banned once more.

Weaponizing in what way?

There some concerns that the federal government is weaponizing the lgbt+ issues and will create regulatory roadblocks for the states to receive the funding for lunch assistance programs which affect low income families. That is yet to be seen but it's clear this administration has been weaponizing various areas of the government including the attorney generals office and intelligence agencies.

Of course, establishing non-relevant conditions in order to receive federal funding was challenged and struck down by activists judges when the Trump administration wanted to condition receipt of certain federal funding dollars on cooperation with ICE and other federal law enforcement agencies.

I don't see how these conditions could possibly survive a challenge under the equal protection clause since they specifically seek to deny federal funding to poor people (as do the similar restrictions the Biden Administration is trying to push on school lunch programs).

Hey remember when we all saved that $0.16 last year on the 4th of July?

Yeah, those were some good times.
