My wife, Jacque, and I are weekend amateur painters. I mean "copying Bob Ross" kind of amateur. We're not talented, we aren't serious, it is just an occasional hobby.
Anyway, a month or two ago I figured out we needed more orange on our living room wall (which I insist on calling our Go Vols room). But to get Jacque into it, it couldn't just be something we bought...she thinks we're orange-saturated already (I should've fallen in love with a Vols fan!).
Then I saw an incredible, beautiful photograph of an autumn forest scene. So much orange in the photo, and much of the orange was just the right shade. It was a totally Go Vols scene! So I suggested to Jacque that we paint it. [didn't say anything yet about hanging it on our wall lol]
So we did. And here's how it came out:

And yes, I was a total genius because getting her involved really made the difference in convincing her we should put it on the wall...where it hangs right now!
The only thing I wish we'd done different was change the angles of the ends of the fallen log so it would echo the shape of the state of Tennessee (actually Jacque's idea!). Maybe one day we'll try again. Ha!
It's no orange-and-white jacuzzi in the middle of the living room, but I'll take my little victories where I can.
Go Vols!
p.s. Here's the original photo that we based the painting on. Don't you think some of those colors are just right?

You missed a great opportunity by not having A heart shaped UT carved in the largest tree trunk; and below that... Robert Loves (Jacque). This will make her a VFL. Also" I would also suggest artist' signature should be "Forrest Gump" All kidding aside, I think you did a great job!My wife, Jacque, and I are weekend amateur painters. I'm not an art connoisseur and like what I like. You and your wife are pretty good painters from my perspective. My wife, Jacque, and I are weekend amateur painters. I mean "copying Bob Ross" kind of amateur. We're not talented, we aren't serious, it is just an occasional hobby.

Actually the missus and I are looking at building a home next spring and toured a couple of models recently.
Hmmmm...wonder if anyone has any acreage in the area? You acquire a 800 - 1000 sq ft “cottage” in need of rehab, rebuild it in Orange & White Tennessee themes, and rent it out via AirB&B.
Just imagine that house if we ever beat Georgia and Florida and Bama again it would literally explode probaly
