So it’s used to distribute Federal Tax dollars to State & Local education boards? The U.S. Department of Education is the agency of the federal government that establishes policy for, administers and coordinates most federal assistance to education. It assists the president in executing his education policies for the nation and in implementing laws enacted by Congress.
An Overview of the U.S. Department of Education-- Pg 1
My take is that it should support and enhance education (primarily public education), help balance the inequities between states and districts - haves and have nots, and protect the interests and rights of all.

I'm fine with you hating my ideology and thought process, I know some do.
But you seem overly angry and bitter......here's hoping things get better for you.
That's such nonsense. Midlife conservatives often go back liberal in the final stages of life - when wisdom and the understanding of priorities are at their peak.Normally when people get into their 60's they have matured. They no longer think like they did in their teens and early 20's. Old neo-liberals is like seeing and old age gay couple, or senior citizens with sleeve tattoos. It's rare and seems a little ridiculous.

I just never had the midlife (myopic/self-centered) conservative phase.
