My friend's deal went thru. Little different than I thought as it won't go major retail at this point and he will still be a salesman to FLA marinas and up the coast. Buying him a van and wrapping it in Dry Pocket, order g a few thousand Dry Bags and Dry Suits and massively ramping up production., throwing him some very nice cash in the bank, said dont worry about money at all, paying him salary and commission. Keeping him vested and it should really take off in a couple of years.

Dangit..and he was saying he wouldn't have anybody to talk to everyday and now he beat me to the punch. lol

Yesterday my grandmother would have turned 122 years old... one of my sibs told me a story that she wanted to board The Eastland but they would not let her board because she was only 15.

The Eastland Disaster Killed More Passengers Than the Titanic and the Lusitania. Why Has It Been Forgotten? | History| Smithsonian Magazine

Great story. Maybe when we don't always get what we want, it's because somebody is watching out for us.

My wife told me something she read tonight. Basically go ahead and try stuff even if you are a little unsure ... just remember the Ark was built by amateurs, and the Titanic was built by professionals.

I tested out the thing about mowing the lawn today - it was looking pretty shaggy like my neighbor's, so I mowed this afternoon. He mowed his after work.

I just saw where Tony Dow has passed away. He played Wally Cleaver on Leave it To Beaver. He was 77.

UPDATE: On Tuesday afternoon, Tony Dow’s wife told TMZ that she “believed her husband was dead” and told his management team who announced his passing on his official Facebook account. The wife, Lauren, said as of Tuesday afternoon, he is “still alive and breathing while in hospice care” and she’s “distraught” over the error. The Facebook post has since been taken down.

Recessions always hit the artsy fartsy places first.

My wife loves the Grove Park Inn in Asheville. The first trip for an Anniversary years ago was really nice. We were on the concierge floor and with the evening "snack" buffet etc, you really didn't even need the restaurants. Last time I refused varlet parking and wound up with a flat tire - somebody just let the air out. Also a plain room cost more than the concierge floor rooms from a few years earlier - small, no amenities, and basically no better than a middle grade motel. Told her never again - Asheville no longer exists in my world. I'm the "I'll carry my own bags and park my own car, thank you; now get out of my way" type ... politely.

We took my Mother there just a few years ago for dinner. Stayed at a less exclusive hotel. Get there and it it was a sea of people waiting to get in dining before they opened the doors and I could not help but think, this is a more well to do Golden Corral

I went to the Grove Park Inn a couple of times and yeah, it was way too fancy for my tastes, but I let my wife take charge and I just handed over the money. One of the first business trips I went on in the early 80's left me in Pittsburgh at some fancy hotel and the bellhop pretty much took my bag away and walked me to my room. I was like WTF as he pushed the button on the elevator and opened the room door. Anyhow, I gave him a couple of dollars and he looked insulted. Well, F him, I didn't need his help to push the elevator button and swipe the room key for me.
