The Culinary Arts Thread

I need to get motivated and lose some weight. I am going to San Diego the end of September for a buddy’s 50th B-Day. I will drink while there, so something for fake 95 to judge me on.

Is 20 pounds a reasonable goal? Last time I lost that much weight I was married, so it was easy with how we cooked healthy food. Doing it solo seems more of a challenge.
You can do it, just make time for some exercise. And ftr, you don't gotta drink a drop for me to judge you 👀🤣

Obviously what works for 1 person might not for another. But I found out that cutting calories and exercise was my ticket to healthy weight loss. My watch helped get me motivated and stay motivated. Some things I did were redundant, but it doesn't matter, it worked and most of all I have enjoyed it.

My 2 scents.

"Unzippy" ? Lulz. Yes, they're Columbia convertible pants. The legs unzip so the can be removed and worn as shorts. I've never worn them as shorts I just like them because they're light, comfortable and dry fast if they get wet.
Do they breathe at all? I’m looking for something lightweight but tough that I can wear for gardening that don’t immediately turn into two-legged saunas. Plus ideally an absurd number of pockets.

I know cutting out beer is essential. I didn’t really drink beer back then, just wine. I do exercise, what I eat is important.
I’ve gotta say, I couldn’t drop an ounce (or keep it off) until I gave up alcohol period, which for me was wine. I rarely drank any beer. 20# in two months might call for drastic measures. (Along with exercise and general sensible eating.)

But then I have the metabolism of a garden snail, and you’re a guy, so weight might just melt off you anyway.

I would not be surprised if this is Milton's last year here, either.
But we better hope he has improved if needed.
I could see him starting next year and red shirt Nico . It would be great for UT if Hypel could get him to use his talent and then have Hooker and Milton in the NFL and then Nico.

Like Behr said, sometimes it's a different something for us all. Whatever it is I hope you figure it out, and lose the weight. I'm all for anyone who tries to motivate themselves into losing weight, exercise, eating better, etc.

Not whining just sharing.

Woke up at 3:32 in excruciating pain. Took a Lil sum sum and 2 and a half hours later I'm finished with 2 loads of laundry, portioned 7.5 lbs of frozen fruit and cooked a dozen 1.5 egg omelets.

Now I feel I've earned the right to watch The Godfather 1 and 2 today. My plan cometh together.
Wut you take?

Oh, I know what I need to do. Making myself do it is the difficult part. 😀

Why is that and what plan?

The obsession with me not peeing in the shower is fascinating.
haha, There's a backstory here. I have a couple of pairs of shorts that dry quickly, and my wife jokes around and says well at least if you pi$$ on yourself when you are watering the plants outside (the hose leaks) your shorts will dry more quickly. I know you talk about your walking a lot down there, and I was figuring you didn't just whiz in a neighbor's yard or trashcan or in a canal somewhere, and if you had to go while you were walking you would have already gone to the bathroom and wouldn't need to use the shower. It was a silly, frivolous comment on my part. I just happened to remember you don't pee in the shower.

On a serious note, I remember you posted up a pic of Greek oregano in a hanging basket and just the other day my wife was talking about how much prettier a plant the Greek was than the Italian. Based on your experience growing oregano, just curious here, do you think the Italian bolts way quicker?

I know it was a joke. I was joking too. Lol.

I think the Greek makes a better hanging plant but I haven't noticed which bolts quickest.
