I see we are having a little "come apart" because we lost a recruit or two.....so what. They have never played in OUR system so we don't know how it would have worked out. Of course the coaches thought they could help but they think that about EVERYBODY they go after. Lets relax and wait for the season to begin. We are all keyed up about the season and nerves are frayed but lets not forget what CJH and crew did with the questionable talent from last year. This could be a really fun season, so lets enjoy it and cheer loudly (as usual) for the ones that want to be VOLS !!!!

I use to freak out but after celebrating too many drew Richmond and Wanya type of commitments while being disappointed about lower rated players that made it to the NFL….. just win baby…. Solidify ourselves as the top second tier team….. keep being one of the most exciting teams in football and we will be ready to take on the Alabamas and Georgias of the world.
I'm disappointed...but in no way am I "freaking out" like a lot of guys on VN are.

It is what it is...no shortcuts, just hard work ahead.

Same thing every year, get some you shouldn't, lose some you should have got. I wonder if anyone has ever looked at the 4-5 star OL that we lost and where they landed and how they finally panned out. It seems like many of the STUDS we get turn out to be DUDS.

JUST FYI: I hardly ever visit the FF but just so happened to this morning, and it paid off. There is a thread about Pitt selling single game tickets today.

I just bought 3 in the lower level. $80 a piece with no fees and will be much cheaper than a third party site. Let's get a big crowd there.

We landed a 5 star yesterday and you would never know it with the way this thread has been 🤦‍♂️

These days you can't count on a commitment that's over a year away and at that level... everyone will be gunning for this kid starting in 2023 and I will be shocked if we hold onto him at this point.

IMO, if you trust Danny White and Heupel, these guys will make the right moves. Each team has to decide on who to spend lots of $$$$ on and if it's worth it. Was a 'counter' offered to UT for the Offensive Lineman and UT passed? Will Miami, in the end, be much better because they paid so many recruits? Will UT be better off in that they selectively pay certain top players, smartly work the portal, and then develop talent they do have? Either way, it's going to be interesting and, hopefully, the NIL pulls many great players away from the likes of Alabama.

I think it's just wild how we all get so pissy over folks saying everyone signs here over NIL.We lose our minds but yet someone else signs with the one of the best oline coaches in the game if not the best and we go and do the same.Im sure no one has seen any contract it's just bs like every other time a recruit signs somewhere now.It really takes away from these kids accomplishments and what there doing. Is it our fault no but doesn't change the facts which ppl hate.

And a one and a two......

"Gloom, despair, and agony on me Deep, dark depression, excessive misery If it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all Gloom, despair, and agony on me."

I hate missing on players too ALONG THE WAY, but will assess this class when we are done and fill up our 85 from HS and the portal. Was this kid really worth the NIL bid we would have to make? Is it possible, maybe even probable that we can get a bigger bang for our buck by passing on some of these high profile guys? Lots to put into the NIL calculator for our collective. Kind of a bad time to declare defeat or victory on these decisions. Especially in volume.
A roster full of average players isn’t going to cut it in the SEC. We need at least 3-4 all SEC guys on both sides of the ball if we really want to have a chance at getting to Atlanta any time within the next 3-4 years. Our DBs and LBs outside of the 2 that were drafted were absolutely atrocious last year and as long as we continue the trend of signing 2 LBs in each class and 3-4 safeties with just 1 CB while continuing to whiff in the transfer portal we’re never going to get there. I don’t want to hear any “we’re finally finishing 2nd with elite prospects and that’s a start” either because that’s been happening since Dooley, and Butch actually closed those elite players and so did Pruitt. They just couldn’t develop them. Is there a possibility that our staff can develop these potential under the radar recruits? Sure there is, but there is also a strong likelihood that Georgia, Bama, Florida, and even Diet USC can do the same while out recruiting us at every position other than QB. I’m still excited about Nico, but the overly optimistic fans need to at least admit that outside of us buying Nico that this staff has done a relatively poor job at recruiting both at the high school level and in the portal with defensive players
