The Rocket City Trash Pandas has to be one of the best nicknames ever invented. I remember seeing them on the Lookouts schedule and I just starting laughing, thinking it was fake

Sorry, just now relooking at the thread. As for the Trash Pandas’ nickname, they did a public contest to pick the name and they had quite a few interesting options. I thought some of the space related names would win out, but Trash Pandas got the most votes. My daughter and son-in-law are season ticket holders. They said the nickname fits because it’s apparently a new fad for minor league clubs to pick odd nicknames.

Well I actually did a quick check and they are a summer collegiate team now. Changed their name to the Traverse City Pit Spitters

Wow I didn’t know that. I remembered him with the Marlins whenever the Braves played them and always thought he was a really good pitcher. That’s pretty cool.

Because the Pitchcom system was malfunctioning…

The playoffs are going to be interesting with Pitchcom. I can’t imagine with the non-stop noise there is going to be a way to consistently communicate without using hand signals.
