‘23 FL OT Francis Mauigoa (Miami commit)

This is all fun and all.
However, this is a great opportunity for you all to enjoy Independence Day weekend and just have fun with family.

It's going to be a big July 4th for Tennessee in recruiting. But don't let that stop from going out and having a great July 4th weekend.

I'm taking my family and 2 friends to a beach house to relax and cook some good food 👍.
Go out and enjoy those beautiful Smokey Mountains ❤❤❤ yall.

That sounds fun. My house has Covid so Volnation is going to keep me sane and drive me insane simultaneously. Best roller coaster ride in the world.

We’re inside the 72 hour mark for when five-star offensive lineman Francis Mauigoa announces a college decision out in Hawaii with his family at 3:00 p.m. ET and 9:00 a.m. out on the island.

The latest intel I’ve been able to gather suggests that Tennessee and Miami remain neck and neck with cautious optimism coming out of both sides. While some in Coral Gables indicated on Thursday morning that they felt like the Volunteers were trending, the tone shifted back to the Hurricanes later in the afternoon Friday with some feeling as though they had momentum in their favor a few days out.

The general feeling with a high-profile recruitment on the verge on coming to a close is that things will go back and forth until a decision is made and I don’t expect anything less here. Right now, I can say Miami remains very much in the picture and they expect to be the whole way through.

A source with knowledge of the recruitment indicated that while Miami has focused on how they can groom Mauigoa into an NFL lineman, other programs involved who have viewed Tennessee as an imminent threat have raised some questions regarding his potential development in Knoxville and that’s something sources have suggested the family is thinking about.

One factor not in question for Mauigoa and his family is the way Alex Mirabal and Mario Cristobal plan to develop the nation’s top ranked tackle. They are very aware of what the group has done in their time at Oregon and most notably what Penei Sewell did while in Eugene in terms of developing into a top five NFL Draft pick. There is also a long-standing relationship between the Mauigoa's and Miami's staff that dates back into the early days of his recruiting process.

There are off-field factors to consider as well and those putting together NIL packages for current players on the roster have been at the forefront of college football, which shows that there is potential to elevate their brand away from football in Miami. That is something Mauigoa and his camp have seen and have been impressed by.
-Miami Mod who isn't very bright

That is the most homerish write-up of a recruit’s status I think I might have ever read. It really is night and day compared to the bland and safe way Callahan and Price say things about recruits involved with Tennessee.

Seriously though. As if Heupel and the Staff haven’t also discussed a plan for development with FM. Acting like Miami is the only one to do that is funny.

i did say he wasn't very bright

I watched Cristobal at Oregon. There wasn’t much developing outside of like 2-3 players and those guys would have been awesome anywhere they went for college.
Meh, I think obviously he’s a pretty good developer of talent wherever he goes. Fact is most programs are going to do a good job developing kids particularly in the SEC or major programs like Miami. This kid just needs to figure out the best fit and honestly I think that was going to be Tennessee.

Before Miami threw crazy money at him it was Tennessee and USC. They got in the picture bc of the money even though I’m sure he likes the staff and program at Miami as well. Once Tennessee closed the gap some on the money I think this was over. I really feel we sign this kid.

He had no real competition around him at Oregon and still couldn’t win big with that talent. Not sure how good he was developing.

I feel like we get him too

Look at his time as an assistant, he’s obviously a good developer of talent. I have no problem saying that, I also have no problem saying Tennessee is the best fit for this kid and his family.

I genuinely don’t understand how these things fluctuate so much from day to day. Do these mods just trump that stuff up for views, or do these kids really waffle from minute to minute in the 2 days before they make a decision?

“Other programs involved w recruitment have raised concerns ab development” hahaha hmmmm sounds exactly like Saban and Napier Bc they know they aren’t getting him.
Lolol yea Tennessee neeeveer sends offensive linemen to the NFL 😒

A coaching staff that's had a top 10 offense over the last 5 years certainly can't develop an offensive linemen....

Fans pay for info. Fans want info daily. People who take their money need to give fresh daily updates to keep getting money.

If it truly is a bidding war (I hope it’s not), then Miami is going to win. We all know the lengths John Ruiz will go to get his guy.

I hope it’s not actually a bidding war though.
Not disagreeing with you but don't we have 2 billionaires? Haslem and the dish network guy. Are they salty because they don't have yes men anymore ruining the program? Anyway gbo!

Miami is Cristobal's alma mater. That was a huge draw for him. His family is there.
