‘23 IL WR Carnell Tate (Ohio State commit)

I get what you're saying and agree. How many times have we said this about "shock the world" recruits?

Don't get me wrong, I think it's OSU because that is the only evidence we have at the moment. That is where things are pointing. I'm just saying it is weird that Tate has gone silent and wants to have a moment where his decision is unpredictable.....yet everyone seems to know its Ohio State lol.

As others have pointed out, I'm not sure that his recruitment is done until Signing Day anyway. Unless he signs some sort of NIL/collective paperwork that anchors him to Columbus.

At the end of the day we need to prove we can produce 1st rounders
Not sure we have any of those on our roster right now.

Bru and Tillman will be NFL guys imo.

Ohio State has two 5 star WRs that are juniors now, that are just now starting to play.

Jameson Williams (Alabama's best offense player kind of) wasn't even the main guy at WR for OSU.

And they still have their LEADING WR returning in 2023. Even though WRs 2 and 3 were just drafted in the 1st round.

They're absolutely stacked there. That's really my reason to believe Tate comes to Knoxville.

Just going to break this down again: both staffs are optimistic that they have him, everyone is guessing, he has a dialogue going with both sides. Everyone picking OSU is doing that bc usually they win these kinds of kids whereas Tennessee had struggled till recent.

So if anyone starts jumping up and down one way or the other and saying I told you so when he commits, really they didn’t know crap. We’re all guessing at this point and both sides think they’re good.

Ohio St, Alabama, and Oklahoma have managed to not screw up with 5* prospects.

Let’s see where 2* Tillman lands in the draft. Barnes maximized Williams potential and that has helped the program. Maybe Heupel can do the same.

I wonder if any of the "gurus" at these recruiting services try to pay for info with these video/graphics guys, or anyone else near a player's decision. I wouldn't put it past some of these guys, in the name of their accuracy rating.

I absolutely agree..... Besides who you mentioned in the above post they have 4 true freshmen that are absolute studs..... and probably with Inniss, Rodgers, and Rogers this year I don't see him getting much playing time...... With Tillman (a Phil Steel all-american) and a few other good receivers he will be able to showcase his talents and get playing time. I think that is his best move.

It really isn't that complicated. Bama and Ohio State have recruited a disproportionate amount of top WRs in the country, and they have put a disproportionate amount of WRs in the NFL.

The former caused the latter, the latter didn't cause the former.
