Gun control debate (merged)

Why would you need to give up rights when you join the military?
We all know the answer and the logical extension, but it's okay if we continue to pretend as if we do not.
Orders. Civilians dont follow orders, military does. They are trained to kill and arent all that smart, and many clearly have mental issues with their insanely high suicide rate.

Also the guns are military/government property not the soldier's. So they wouldnt have a right to them anyway.

Also the 2A applies to civilians not the military, so they dont a right to the guns anyway.

You probably don’t want to go there with their 18 and kill everyone , but you can’t drink because your mind isn’t capable of handling it yet policy. This is a losing topic for you .
I find the complete hypocrisy in the age requirements.

Because those dog tags say the government owns your ass unlike civilians where I can tell these guys around here walking around with all the chest candy to go **** themselves without any fear .
I will never understand why so many who claim to hate the government willingly gave their ass to the government.

I find the complete hypocrisy in the age requirements.

But yet we should trust our government . I find that I most politicians don’t care , I find most groups don’t care , most individuals don’t care and all for the same reason unless it’s something in it for them . The easiest way to cut down on and eventually eliminate school shootings is to harden schools making them a death trap for anyone wishing to do harm to kids , it would be the easiest route to take and not infringe on any rights ..when’s is that bill coming out of the house ? Why aren’t the ones in control taking that route ? VOTES OVER VALUE , that’s why .

Exactly. You will never understand. And a lot of good people died to give you that right. Show some respect *******.

Luther is a progressive Democrat. Unless you support killing babies, massive government spending, child abuse, and an Orwellian society he has no respect for you.

And somebody who can’t live without government was too chickens*** to join.
???????? You think joining the military is a function of bravery?
Just so I'm clear; you hate the government but you willingly gave your a$$ to the government because you are brave?

Exactly. You will never understand. And a lot of good people died to give you that right. Show some respect *******.
Please.
I have respect for the military. I have respect for LEOs. I have respect for teachers. I have respect for government officials. I have respect for lawyers and doctors and nurses and plumbers............ I have respect for any and all who deserve respect.

It's some of you guys who are clueless when handing out your respect.

Never left.
It's obvious that in order for a group to function properly and efficiently, individual rights often become secondary.
The question is, when does the success of the group become critical enough to justify sacrificing some degree of individual rights? You find the military to be the perfect example. I think there are many examples.
I think I have heard this somewhere before. But I believe it sounded better in the original German
„Gemeinnutz geht vor Eigennutz“
