Looking like DeChambeau, Reed, and Fowler are going to the LIV.

The PGA tour's $40 million PIP program was apparently a failed attempt to keep players like Fowler on board. Fowler has been outspoken that his popularity on social media has been a major factor in attracting fans, TV coverage, etc. Unfortunately for him, Tiger Woods won the $8 million PIP first prize, rightfully so. (Not sure how much Ricky got, but obviously he thinks he can make more money on LIV tour.)

DeChambeau is another guy who seems to be more interested in impressing fans with his long drives than his results in tournaments. So not surprised with him leaving either.

I think it's hypocritical to say that Tiger deserves his millions because of his immense popularity with golf fans, and then saying that popular guys like Ricky don't deserve any more money than what they can win in tournaments. Ricky has been playing poorly lately, but he's very popular, especially with young fans.

If they don't play tour events..then they won't qualify for majors...unless the tours cave and allow them to play tour events while not fulfilling tour obligations. I hate that f'n DJ and f'n Reed won the Masters because that will get them in there.

You don’t have to play PGA Tour events to qualify for majors. It’s based off world rankings so if the LIV events allow them to earn world ranking points it doesn’t matter where they earn them.

It is maddening that we never took advantage. But that’s what Derek Dooley and Butch Jones will get you I suppose. Remain convinced we could’ve run off six straight from 2012-2017 with better coaching.
