The Culinary Arts Thread

A couple years ago we were discussing hush puppies and I mentioned that my favorites are in the shape of a "cat turd". Lol

For the past 17 years we've been on a quest to find a good hush puppy. Well, today, by shear happenstance, we found the good'ns. We decided to try the Cook Out and they had homemade hush puppies on the menu.

That does not classify as a hush puppy. Hush puppies have to be a sphere!

But I don't care what shape they're in.
I swear we have tried hush puppies from about 15 different locations around here before today and all were the same store bought from the freezer section nasty little bastages I described in my prior post. So, everytime I see a spherical hush puppy, my internal pavlovian dog takes over.

Back in the day, before TFG was a twinkle in his daddy's eye, we used to be able to buy the frozen cat turd ones and they were very good. I think Ore-Ida used to sell them. No longer, though.
their R&D department realized they were making them the wrong shape

I've had some good frozen ones, but they were good like Krystal hamburgers are good. They ain't good for what they're supposed to be, but they good for what they are.
