Mostly agree as it pertains to the "non-cash benefits" ruling.

But the opinions were so clearly towards the NCAA and NIL. They absolutely railed against the past NIL restrictions.

They made it pretty clear they wouldn't stand for future NIL restrictions.

But get what you're clarifying.

Right. I agree, especially when you read the tea leaves. It sounds like any rule that would come before them they would view with extreme skepticism. I imagine that is why the NCAA threw it hands up and is hoping for Congress to bail them out. They are tired of getting sued - who wouldn't be? But I see a lot in the media, and even here, that the NCAA is totally toothless because of Alston, and that simply is not true from a legal perspective.

We really keeping the regional finals off of TV so they can play the replay of somebody's Spring game for the 87th game. This is really what we are doing.
Speaks to the popularity of CBB up till the CWS. Hoping UT making a big thing out of it will explode the CBB market. Historically it's been a nothingburger.

Funny story.. I have a patient who attended the university of Tennessee 20+ years ago.. I asked her if she was a football fan and she says “not really, the only game I went to was where the guy dropped it in the end zone and we lost and everyone was really mad”……

This is like those Facebook trends… Poorly Explain Battered Vol Syndrome….

Some will remember that Virginia was considered a top 3 team early in the season. Currently ranked 15th in the D1Baseball top-25.

They are DONE.

#16 Ga Southern (NCAA tourney seeding) is also DONE.

Funny how vague that is and yet we all know exactly what play and game she means 🤣

We're potentially the greatest team of all-time. Seems like, being broadcast sports pros and all, they'd recognize this and have us front and center every chance they get.
Have they showed every OU softball game prior to the softball CWS? Nah. And they may be the most dominant team in all of sports history (56-2 in softball/baseball is unspeakable).

Let's be real though. Did anyone here know who the best team was in 2018...17...16...15..etc etc?

College baseball is very insular. Few follow and few know. It is what it is. We can't act like we were all following CBB before TV showed up or that it's a major sport. But maybe DW and TV can change all of that...we're making it exciting. They were just waiting on us to bring the heat 👀 👀

Yes and no. There is no "your way" though...as your previous sentences stated. "Your way" IS their (the universities') way.

The schools, their ADs, faculty, etc., ARE the ones voting on NCAA bylaws.

The NCAA staff don't make any rules on their own. They are merely the head entity for their membership (the universities). Their board is made up of school presidents, chancellors, ADs, faculty, etc. As is their CLR, Committee of Legislative Relief (handling waivers) and COI (Committee on Infractions)...the ones that hand down punishments for rules infractions.

The NCAA (that makes bylaws) is really nothing but university employees and associates. Official NCAA employees are mere cogs in that machine. They don't set any rules. Thus why the NCAA is an association.

But the SEC has outgrown the NCAA , trying to push a cap could be very dangerous for their future . If the SEC says we are not abiding by your decisions anymore , they would be done .
