watching GT pitching and you wonder how they even made a regional lol
i know about the offense but damn.
Grissom was their best pitcher in the regular season. He had the lowest ERA of the 4 main guys. It was only 5.40. lol. Medich, the pitcher who started the regional for them, had a regular season ERA of 6.75. They used 6 guys on the mound their first time up against Campbell. Against Alabama State they only used Huff, one of the the 4, and Finley in relief. Huff's regular season ERA was 6.98. The remaining guy from the 4 is Maxwell. His ERA during the season was 5.96. His record is 5-0 though so I don't know why we haven't seen him yet.
So as of last night we were the #1 scoring offense in the nation with 583 runs in 62 games. Georgia Tech was at #5 with 542 runs in 58 games, and Campbell was at #7 with 518 runs in 59 games.
The 3 teams still alive in the Statesboro regional are ND, 397 runs in 51 games, ranked #85, Georgia Southern, 440 runs in 60 games, ranked #48, and Texas Tech 502 runs in 59 games, ranked #11. Georgia Southern & Texas Tech are playing the elimination game right now to see who faces Notre Dame in the Finals. In the Bottom of the 4th Tech is up 3-1. The winner would have to beat Notre Dame twice to advance.
Team ERA as of last night, #1 Tennessee 2.35, #10 Notre Dame 3.87, #56 Campbell 4.62, #60 Georgia Southern 4.85, #102 Texas Tech 5.11, and #228 Georgia Tech 6.61. lol
I think it will probably be us and Notre Dame for the supers. Obviously we have the better team and of course we'll be home. You never know but Omaha is looking like our next road trip. jmo.
