The greatness of this team has done wonders to add new baseball fans to Volnation. But it has also given them the erroneous impression that this is normal for good teams. It’s not normal, even for the best of teams. And in baseball, slumps happen. Off games happen. Sometimes, it’s just a game and then the team recovers. Sometimes not. But judging what a baseball team will do based on one or two select games just doesn’t work. Truth is, any team can beat any other team on a given night.

Any thoughts on how CTV might handle his pitching? Just wondering about strategy for a regional and super regional and level of competition. Do you save Dolly or plan to pull your starters early if the Vols get an early lead?

Good Tuesday morning all. Feeling giddy this AM over potential NCAA Championship in Baseball. Will this be our first UT sports Natty since 1998? Love the double barrel SEC Champs. Seems like we had a championship in Rugby this year. I haven't been this positive about UT Athletics in a long time. Just focus, keep pressing, have fun with it, and bring home those trophies. Got a lot going on during the summer. Sure would be helpful to have schedules for regionals at least a weekend ahead. I know we got Friday night...I am assuming Saturday night and that is it for this weekend. Sound like a good forecast. Looks like once we get past this Thursday, weather beautiful. GBO VFL!

Dollander will almost certainly get Game #2. Whether that’s in the winners bracket or loser’s bracket, it’s the most important game in the regional arguably, so he’ll get the ball.

The rest is kind of a mystery, but I expect Tidwell gets the mound on Friday night against Alabama State.

Idk if it's in this thread, but it has been discussed quite a bit in the forum. My opinion is we have set up the rotation for how we see it in the postseason. Blade Friday night (hopefully get a big lead and let Sechrist finish off the game without using bullpen arms), Dolly on Saturday to hopefully send us to the final. Then you have a fresh bullpen still on Sunday with Burns to start. If we stumble somewhere you still have Beam for Monday night.
