How is that legal? As you based your retirement on existing company policySo my idiot ass company has throw a wrench in my maniacal plans to flip them off and quit.
Our performance bonus plan before this year had a qualifying period as being an employee for the first 6 months of the year you qualified even if you retired on July 1. This year they changed it to you must be an employee on the payout date in March.
It has apparently dawned on them, I’m guessing due to the sheer number of retirement filings, that they will in 30 days be seeing an exodus of very senior very experienced people. They have thus made an allowance of a one time exemption for this year only that if you are employed on Dec 1 then you qualify.
No idea yet what I will do. At the most I would go part time for the remainder of the year.
Taking the wife and kids to DC this weekend. Hotel room is booked, van is serviced, snacks are ready.
Only issue is that old people scooters for a person of my height are on a 25 week wait for rental or purchase. I'm still having long Covid breathing issues and my left knee still needs to be replaced, so crutching around the Capitol isn't on the agenda. We'll find a way to make things work out.
The most important part of the trip will be to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. They need to experience the sacred solemnity of the cemetery and the esteemed honor of the soldiers who guard the tomb. Of all the places I've been in DC, that one is the most special to me.
