Those who contract the virus will now have to self-isolate for three weeks, Belgian health authorities have said, after three cases were recorded in the country.

The infections, the first of which was recorded on Friday, are all linked to a festival in the port city of Antwerp.

It comes as doctors have warned that the UK faces a 'significant' rise in infections and the government's response is 'critical' in containing its spread.

Dr Claire Dewsnap, president of the British Association for Sexual Health and HIV, has also said the outbreak could have a 'massive impact' on access to sexual health services in Britain.

UNAIDS said “a significant proportion” of recent monkeypox cases have been identified among “gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men”

We have a friend in the Philippines that said their mask mandates have gone from Covid to Monkeypox in “neighboring countries “for the reason that they still have to wear them . Anecdotal take it for what it’s worth , she just said it this morning .

Moneypox can be airborne, but you pretty much have to be face to face. The bigger issue is surface contact. Frequent hand washing and sanitizing makes x^n more sense than masking.

Oh, and btw - if you were born in or before 1972, you are probably relatively immune to monkeypox since you likely had the smallpox vaccine.
