Gun control debate (merged)

Daily shootings don't seem to bother you. Instead of only addressing the mass shootings and going all in there, why not address the day to day violence. Mass shootings happen each weekend in Chicago to the tune of 40+, but it is irrelevant because it didn't all happen by one gun.
That's just absurd. Daily gun violence is a huge issue, much larger than the mass shootings. That's why the rational and reasonable gun regulations I support are geared more to addressing those specific issues.

Not absurd if you don’t hold those in charge accountable for their own cities crime. But that would require you going against the party you spin for.

100%. If this inequity was in the opposite direction and the white population was committing the majority of homicide it would talked about daily on the news and it would be called racist to support gun control because they would tell you they need guns to defend them against all these crazy crackers

If we refuse to discuss this problem, we will never be able to address it. If it were as simple as guns, the white homicide rate would be higher than that of these “comparable” countries he wants to use
The Australians had a gun problem with in a portion of their culture and got rid of guns. The gun violence went down but the knife and blunt instrument problem shot up (pun intended) the murder rate was unchanged. That’s because they’re not trying to solve a problem. They’re trying to subjugate their people.

Because it’s a horse 💩 argument. It’s a cultural issue in large part created by people like you.
It's the only argument.
Anyone claiming it's a horse sh!t argument is saying much more about themselves than the actual issue.

That’s why they will manipulate the data by trying to only look at “gun deaths” rather than homicides.

The same with suicide. 100% a cultural issue that’s not correlated to gun ownership
Nonsense. Look at attempted suicides. What percent of the people who attempt suicide never actually commit suicide at a later time? What percent of suicide attempts in the US involve the use of a gun? Break it down by male and female. Break it down further by "successful" and "unsuccessful" attempts.
You cannot look at and even remotely understand the data and make the claim you just made.

Go ahead and stat your argument instead of asking me to search for it for you. I'm not sure what you're claiming. But as I stated earlier Asian countries lead the world in both restrictive gun policies and suicides.

Is this the first post in your numerous recent exchanges where you added 'social disadvantage' to the lower-end-of-the-economic-spectrum (my phrase, not yours) you previously mentioned many times?
Probably the third or fourth.

People who want to kill themselves will find a way. I had a relative slit her wrists but her husband came home early and found her so that attempt failed. She just waited for things to calm down and hung herself in a coat closet where no one would look for her. There aren't too many methods of suicide that you can call for a redo while in the process.

Stop asking me to make your argument for you. What are you trying to say? Show me. When I specifically mention homicide rates, I give you my evidence. I don't just yell "fetch!". Stop being a child and directly state your point so I can go ahead and tell you why you're wrong about this too.

It's pretty simple. Suicides attempted with a gun are far more likely to be "successful" than other suicide attempts.

Nope. He's illegally buying and using a gun that was initially purchased through a bulk purchase.

How do you know it was through a bulk purchase and what constitutes a “bulk purchase”. So anyway you’re saying that illegal straw purchasers are the problem? Could stolen guns maybe be a problem too?

So you believe suicide is worsened by guns yet suicide is low and much lower than Asian countries without guns?

How do you reconcile this?

It’s coming from you for one and it absolutely is a horse 💩 argument. Making bad life choices because you weren’t born in a great situation is still all your fault.

Of course the gun is part of the problem.

Then why is that not reflected in the data and why is a poor white man less likely than an equally poor black man to commit homicide?

If the gun plays a role, homicide rates for white Americans wouldn’t be the same as for Europeans
