Gosh. I am so very surprised to see an uga fan in here with passive aggressive digs. We currently play Florida, Alabama, and your trash program every year. So give me a break about our perhaps being OK with a slightly easier draw.

they have no power. UT and Alabama hold all the power in the SEC. we HAVE to play Florida every year though. drop Vandy for them

I'm for doing away with the permanent opponents to but don't see the SEC letting go of that in the near term. They seem to be fixated that they are important. I think TN would turn out ok with those 3 teams. Other than Bama I would miss not beating KY / Vandy every year. KY FB fans have now become as obnoxious as the BB fans so beating them now is very enjoyable. Not having to listen to the insufferable GA fans every year is a plus.

I think they should do away with these nonsensical neutral site SEC games. Why cant Georgia and Florida do home and home like everybody else?

Having lived in FL for several yrs, I was told by UF fans that because the hatred between the 2 fan basses was getting out of control the 2 schools decided to go to the neutral site. Both fan bases seem to like the Jax location for the most part and Jax lobbies the SEC very hard to keep the game. It is a very scenic and great setting.

Neutral site rivalry games seem pretty neat to me (if it's an established tradition). Red River Shootout, etc. Great stuff.

Not sure why a Tennessee fan gives a rip about UF and UGA playing a neutral site game anyway.

there is nothing scenic about the concrete plants and shipyards that surround that stadium lmao

Doesn't Tennessee currently play Alabama, UGA, and Florida every year now? So it rotates to Auburn.

One thing I don't think people are getting is how much we will see every team under this plan. If Georgia and Florida aren't permanent opponents we will still see both twice every four years. Being a rotator is nothing like it has been under this format.

Everything uga touches becomes passive-aggressive, snarky, and needy for affirmation. I can certainly see why they are part of a 'Hall of Fame' for one regular season game.

No one can appease all 16 teams. Just arrange the schedule which follows some common condition. It could be those in the Eastern Time Zone could be lumped into one group and those in the Central Time Zone . The second step was to take this in the WTZ join the ETZ to determine the 8 teams and work from there. This would be ideal for choosing the 3 permeant teams for the 2 time zones. Next one would figure out travel time between the teams in each time zone to reduce travel for obtain the lowest possible distant between the 8 teams in each time zone. That would leave a simple random distribution of the other 13 teams. This would reduce any bias is the formation of a 2 or 4 Quads. Fact is you will be playing most teams at least once every 2 years and 2 teams every year. This would also make it more convenient for all fans who want to dive to away games . Make it as easy as possible for every team and their fans.

No, but I think that makes more sense for Auburn. Georgia and Florida weren't rivals until the 1992 expansion and formation of divisions made them rivals. Going into that season, Tennessee had played Georgia Tech and North Carolina more than Georgia or Florida. Auburn, on the other hand, has played both far more times and had a rivalry with both pre-SEC expansion.

Tennessee has played Kentucky, Vanderbilt, and Alabama more than any other school. The Tennessee-Kentucky series is among the top 5 or 10 most played games in history.
