Gun control debate (merged)

I think we should make abortion 100% legal but the mother carries the baby to term, delivers the baby, then has to kill it with her own two hands.

Technically the decision would be that there never really was such a right and that Roe was incorrectly decided, so no rights are actually lost s they never really existed in the first place

Except for the fact that it did exist. You’re trying to put the toothpaste back in the tube

This guy took a gun, converted it, then drove 3.5 hours to kill some black people. One of four mass shootings this weekend. You guys refusing to acknowledge there's a gun problem in this country are increasingly just plain ridiculous.

To be fair, I would like to hear what the gun problem is. This isn't a gun problem.

The gun did not "convert" (I'm not sure what this means) itself.
The gun did not drive 3.5 hours.
The gun did not select the black victims.

I think the use of convert when it comes to guns is like their fully semi automatic talk. Makes them sound like they know what they are saying to people who have no clue. Makes it dangerous, sound extra illegal.

He is a racist. And he committed a terroristic act on citizens of his own country. Therefore he is a racist domestic terrorist.

Why is that so hard for some to admit? There is no argument against it.

Were his actions and murderous rampage in pursuit of political aims or simply driven by hate?

Uuuhhhhh
I don’t. The news and what’s reported is my issue.
Why is the reporting so one sided in your opinion?
Before you answer and try your usual race card Bull **** you should remember that I’m a person this shooter wants to kill. “Dirty Jews” I believe is what he called us
You’re still just another frugal white boy to me 😁

I literally said that it was good that none got killed from the woman shooting up the bus. There's no difference to me in any shooting, I'm asking why nobody on the left ever posts a single time when it's not a white shooter. There's literally mass shootings in Chicago and Atlanta every week, and none of you blink an eye about it. Also, the problem with your theory, all the shootings you guys do talk about happen in gun free zones. How's the good guy supposed to have a chance?

A lot of "you guys" statements in there. First off, you clearly haven't seen my 2nd amendment posts in here. I was raised in the gun culture and probably have more guns than you do (unless you're one of my close friends that has 200+ guns, KPD investigator said he was better armed than the KPD). But my point is you made a broad statement that liberals never comment on black on anyone shootings and that's just not true. Most of those shootings in Chicago are gang related and the motivations are turf and money, not racial.

And if the press and liberals don't ever talk about those, then how does everyone know about them, it's not like everyone watches Fox.

Everyone seems to be glossing over the mental health aspect of this. The man was flagged as a threat and was evaluated for mental health issues years ago. He was on police radar, but someone appears to have determined he was not enough of a threat and was walking around freely and was even able to arm himself. Liberals keep wanting to expand their powers over us in response to their failure to even properly use the powers we have already given them. Why was this obviously mentally ill person walking around and obtaining firearms right under the gaze of the authorities?

I think that replacement theory propaganda is certainly a right-wing political aim. Tucker has made it his newest piece of BS. Fostering hate among the followers is a major component of Trumpism and has been from day one.
It's the Bannon/Stone way. Are you guys still refusing to realize and accept that obvious fact?

How long do you recommend that a 17 year old who makes a threat lose his right to purchase a gun?

More than 5 million people in the US have diagnosed bipolar disorder, about 1.5 million with schizophrenia, almost 50 million with anxiety disorders.

1 in 5 U.S. adults experience mental illness each year
1 in 20 U.S. adults experience serious mental illness each year
1 in 6 U.S. youth aged 6-17 experience a mental health disorder each year
50% of all lifetime mental illness begins by age 14, and 75% by age 24
Suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death among people aged 10-34

What would you recommend doing with these people? Do you want to disallow them all to have firearms? It sounds like it, so get to work recruiting your buddies for that mission.
