Analysis: Neutral Switzerland leans closer to NATO in response to Russia

BERN, May 15 (Reuters) - Switzerland's fabled neutral status is about to face its biggest test in decades, with the defence ministry tilting closer to Western military powers in response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

The defence ministry is drawing up a report on security options that include joint military exercises with NATO countries and "backfilling" munitions, Paelvi Pulli, head of security policy at the Swiss defence ministry told Reuters.

The details of the policy options under discussion in the government have not been previously reported.

"Ultimately, there could be changes in the way neutrality is interpreted," Pulli said in an interview last week. On a trip to Washington this week, Defence Minister Viola Amherd said Switzerland should work more closely with the U.S.-led military alliance, but not join it, Swiss media reported.

If pakistan is in, India is out. If india is in, Pakistan is out. Heck China may be out too if they want india.

India has a ton of issues with both, no way would they be in a military/defensive alliance with the other two.

You know you’ve 💩 the bed when the Swiss are willing to join a military alliance against you. Even Hitler couldn’t pull that off.

India and Pakistan both do business with Russia. They could probably put their differences aside if they both had a common enemy.

Now if one could get Pakistan and India to align, that would be some buck****ery that few could accomplish.
Seeing Dallas comment on the Swiss...well that is unprecedented

And according to most mainline Protestant theories on the end time, that is Armggedon and Game Over time.

I was always fascinated with end time prophesy since reading The Late Great Planet Earth as a kid. The beltway to the ME will allow the 200M.
Who knows if the US is still around or even a much less player in world events. 1/3rd of the planet being annihilated with the potential conflict with Russia makes me nervous.

Being passed around. It starts in typical Russian double speak, but has a worth while ending. Russia is beginning to understand their situation. They do NOT have the ability to fight a war on multiple fronts, and they cannot nuke an immediate neighbor without nuking themselves. I'm hearing a lot of backing down and relaxing from Putin and company. I heard some crazy speak about how Finland in nato is not really a problem now from russia earlier.
