I missed the part of my post that had anything to do with navigation .. although having entirely too many people does impede the navigation.

It's the busiest airport in the world...it is also gigantic and efficiently laid out. Many, many airports smaller than ATL "feel" busier than ATL, take much longer to get around, and are nowhere near as intuitive to get around.

You ever been to O'Hare, just one of many examples of airports that are much worse? The concourses feel like they are about 2 feet wide, and it handles almost as many people per year as ATL.
