How can we, THE VolNation, help Evan throw out a baserunner?

His arm isn't that bad.
I think our coach’s philosophy is to get outs and focus on the hitters. So far its worked but hope it’s not our Achilles heel during tourney time. Most of the stolen bases have been on the pitchers. Evan is getting a bad rep as he has an above average arm.

Glad our team is back in front of the home crowd this weekend. I keep checking the weather forecast, and so far, weather looks much better than last weekend. Should be a lively atmosphere!

Georgia is a good team with good starters, a dynamite ace in Jonathan Cannon, and a veteran lineup. I expect another dogfight (no pun intended) this weekend, but I think our guys will be ready to compete. I hope they have better plate discipline and play like themselves again.

Fence them bulldoggies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We'll find out tomorrow night. Of the right handers, Chase has been the best at holding them close at first.

I'm not wild about people stealing second, but whatever..

But, routinely allowing guys to go from second to third is nutso.

Part of that I knew but was not willing to share until they did. Trying to give Burns and probably Beam a break leading into playoffs and also giving Dollander and Blade a starting role. I think Saturday will depend on what we do Thursday and Friday. It could be anyone or a host of pitchers on Saturday if we win first two. This should help us be ready for playoffs and SEC championship.

I like their plan for both short and long term. It’s good to give both Burns and Beam a bit of a break. Dolly and Blade also are more experienced and fresher out of the four of them. Coach V hinted that the coaches might shake things up a bit in preparation for postseason play. I’m glad our depth allows them to do so.

This is what I suggested last week that we might/should do to give the two freshman a break before the postseason, because I’m a genius. I’m just too modest to admit it.

Seems the coaches do listen to Vol Nation..... or at least to TxBo.

Sounds good to me. I know how these young guys react ,they will be chomping at the bits there next start . I've coached a lot of baseball and no matter how young and strong these kids are the arm still gets tired . They should bounce back strong . Really think we have some wise coaches .

Um…hello?!

With Dollander likely available next week against Kentucky, and the embarrassment of starting arms we have, I wonder if the coaches will look to give a couple of our starters a week off to get ready for postseason. Dollander will have had 2 weeks off. Tidwell is obviously well rested. Maybe go with Tidwell-Dollander-Beam against Kentucky to give Burns a week off. Then go with Burns-Tidwell-Dollander against Georgia or Mississippi State to give Beam a week off.

It would make sense, given how much starting pitching talent we now have.
