Official Gramps' Memorial Eternal OT Thread

It's new leg parts day! I'm getting all new liners, spacers, impact gels, and a new vacuum. Been waiting for months and walking on busted equipment. It'll be like walking new this afternoon.

Also, last Monday of classes! Now to try and find a summer job or have some really good yard sales.

No. At the dealership. It was the 90k service, so lots of stuff getting done. Plus new tires!

Replaced a tie rod this weekend, and replaced the door speakers with a set of Sonys with magnets so big that i had to fabricate a 1inch thick spacer to mount behind it....or the magnet prevented my window rolling down 🤣. They scream now. Next is a cold air intake and a chip/flash...bit they will have to wait until my next bonus check.

In what I am certain is not a coincidence, my favorite human (daughter) and favorite car (see coupe below) were both born in 2008....which was a horrible year in just about every other way. Hmmm... anyway, this stickshift is so fun to drive that i find myself making excuses to leave home and drive it....so much fun to drive and VTEC just begs a man to wind that tachometer out.....

Who hit your rear quarter panel?

Just messing.

I was thinking about chipping my car and I read apparently it is a waste of money as no performance gains. What gives?

I had an 06 V6 Accord that was cherry with 150K. That motor was as smooth as silk and I took extreme care of that car, even spent $400 detailing and knocking little dings out before I sold it for $3K. I am an idiot for selling that car, and especially at the price. New tires, new battery, new hoses, absolutely nothing wrong with it. Would of given me more satisfaction to give it away to somebody that needed it..such a bizarre feeling.

Sweet looking little drive ...

I was curious of the toll on the Ukrainian side and searched for "Ukrainian War Losses".
Almost all reports only cite the Russian losses .
Ukraine-Russian War 2022: Military Losses Official Statistics | UAwar This site has a tab for the Ukrainian losses and states HEROES NEVER DIE! instead of stats. It has to be taking a toll or Ukraine is Bo Jackson in Tecmo Bowl.

I find it hard to believe the Russian Army is this inept.

Bo Jackson was seriously unstoppable in tecmobowl lmao...he was like using Oddjob in Goldeneye 007...off limits unless you wanted a beating from the boys.

I remember on Lakers vs Celtics? Maybe that the Phoenix Suns had Tom Chambers big 6ft10in goofy self....he had a special move from right inside the freethrow line that was unblockable, unstealable, and he hit 100% of the time even if there was a defender directly between him and the basket. The team wasnt that good, but he could score 60 a game like that and never miss a shot lmao....only get away with crap like that once playing with friends though. They aint putting up with that BS . When NBA Jams made it from arcade to Nintendo 64 somebody else could catch literally on fire and then hit 100% on 3s but I dont remember who? Maybe Reggie or Jordan? Those days were fun times man.

Tecmo Super Bowl was the best though. I loved it at the time when all the teams were on the game. Still play it every now and then lol.

The Tom Chambers play you're thinking of was a dunk from almost the 3 point line.

Later on there was one of the NBA Live games that Eric Piatkowski of the Clippers would get hot from the 3 point line. It was a little known secret because he was not a starter and some guys that would play would never go to their bench.

On a more serious note Tom Chambers should be in the Hall of Fame.

Anyone in here live/lived in Cincy? Got a pretty lucrative job offer yesterday and I've only visited a few times.

Knoxville's kind of losing its indenity and I'm a little burned out being here.

Gasoline prices have gone up here $0.20 cents over-night to $4.19 at Kroger. Lordy Lou.
That makes going places on summer vacation a lot more fun this year.

A good friend lives outside Cincy. He tolerates it.
