War in Ukraine

Maybe Russia should just claim to be the founding member of the Soviet Union, and all those other states like Ukraine had no right to secede. They could point to our previous episode with secession and military invasion as precedent.
I would love that to watch Ras eat his shirt

So the Russians should have just allowed the Ukrainians to continue fighting Russian military and Russian sponsored separatists - before the invasion - in their sovereign Donbas region? So the Russians should have just allowed NATO free reign on their doorstep with the ability to stage nukes on their border?

Fixed your first sentence.
You're going full Chicken Little in the second, and are mildly insane for even posing such wild extrapolations of logic.

Yeah because if history has proven anything is that NATO is just chomping at the bits to drop nukes.

Careful, Ras will drop Hiroshima and Nagasaki into that discussion - the US is a member of NATO after all; and we did use those bombs in a very unfriendly way on a "mostly peaceful" country.

Putin was justified in going in to stop the killing in Donbas and stopping NATO/The US from staging a proxy army on its border. And The Russians have been clearly making every effort to minimize civilian casualties as best as they can.

Lastly, the best way for this to end is for Ukraine to seriously go to the negotiating table and not have NATO or the West whispering in their ears.

You can't talk about peace without bring up the role that NATO has played in this.

I assume you mention this because of NATO's shocking history of invading sovereign nations and bringing death and distruction to innocent peoples.

No need to use Hiroshima or Nagasaki. I could just as easily say Belgrade.

The best part about all of this is that NATO was kind of falling a part prior to all of this and now more nations are wanting to join it.

Funny how every nation (except puppet-state Belarus) that borders Russia is trying to run as fast as they can to get away from Moscow.

Great News !! More monthly dues for us to cover.

Ukraine announced that it and Poland signed a very important military/defense agreement. They said Warsaw is a friend and would not stab Ukraine in the back. Wonder if they’re hinting about Polish forces moving in to secure western Ukraine abs freeing up those Ukrainian troops to move eastward?
I remember seeing reports about a leaked Polish operational plan a few days ago that described Polish forces entering Ukraine.

Will the next contestant at the Hague, come on down!

A Russian soldier who was in Bucha during the executions was identified because he spray-painted his Instagram handle in a civilian's home

Aside from the murdering of civilians, what kind of dickhead spray paints his social media tag INSIDE another persons HOME?

Well, that's a shame. The families of those crewmen lost in tank accidents will not receive compensation either I guess.

Russia isn't technically at war with Ukraine, so Russia can't say that they're getting their asses kicked in the Ukrainian war.
