War in Ukraine

Money we dont have. So everybody gets to support this US hegemony with their own wallets and COL. After trillions spent in fruitless wars in Afghan and ME.
And you can bet dollars to donuts, this coming bill in the mail will be $1T+. Throw in a possible $1.6T student debt relief, inflation, a recession. Gonna be quite a disgusting show.

I don't like it
So here is the US relying on imports again. Why can't this country simply develope its own talent and industry here domesically? This country is run by idiots. So we go begging to the Chinese for widgets, the Saudis and Venezuela for our oil and now looking to Russia for our scientists and engineers.

Looks like somebody else wanting to get his butt kicked. Some people never learn.

The Belarus build-up is a ruse. If they were to invade Poland, NATO would invoke Article 5 and drop the hammer on them.

*POOF* Belarus wiped from the map.

Putin is just forcing his fiefdom to puff up its feathers.

The music is the best part

Seriously.... this is the best combat footage I've ever seen on so many levels.

Drones have changed warfare altogether.

That the operator dropped a grenade from a couple hundred feet THROUGH THE OPEN SUNROOF of a moving Russian vehicle is an insane, miraculous shot. And the music choice... hilarious.

Here's a longer version that shows what happens after the grenade his the vehicle:

HEADS UP: Very graphic.

Russia averaging around 20 tanks lost/day recently.

Clearly, they're pushing hard, but these levels of losses are wholly unsustainable (annualized 7,300 tanks/year loss rate), if estimates are accurate. At some point, something's gotta give (i.e. either the Russian advance or the Ukrainian defense collapses). My $$$ is on the Russian army collapsing along with a Putin dirt nap.

Wonder how Switchblade drones are performing...

Pictures from Internet confirm sending of US M777 155mm towed howitzers to Ukraine

According to pictures released on Internet, we can confirm that the United States will supply M777 155mm lightweight towed howitzers to Ukraine. On April 23, 2022, several M777s were loaded into American C-17 Globemaster III military transport aircraft from U.S. Force.

Citing non-official sources, at least 4 C-17 American military transport aircraft were involved in this delivery and 10 M777 howitzers were loaded into the aircraft.

According to the latest information published on Internet, the Ukrainian armed forces will receive a total of 108 M777 155mm towed howitzers from Australia, Canada, and United States. Army Recognition reported that the United States has approved the delivery of M777 howitzers on April 13 and April 22, 2022, respectively.

The M777 is a 155mm lightweight towed howitzer which can be easily transported by military aircraft or towed by truck thanks to its lightweight being significantly lower than other howitzers of the same type. The gun has a much higher level of digital connectivity allowing more rapid, safe, and accurate application of effects across the modern battlefield.

The M777 provides direct support to combat troops through offensive and defensive fires with conventional and precision-guided projectiles. It can also employ illuminating and smoke projectiles. It has an effective firing range of 24 km with standard 155mm HE (High Explosive) projectiles, 30 km with Extended-Range Full-Bore projectile, 28.7 to 37 km with M795 HE projectiles, and 40 km Excalibur GPS-guided ammunition.

The M777 can be towed behind a gun truck tractor. It can also be lifted by the CH-47 Chinook helicopter and carried in the Air Force C-17A Globemaster III and C-130J Hercules aircraft. The M777 is also deployable by Navy watercraft and amphibious vessels.

Wonder if we're providing precision-guided projectiles. Seems like that would be a game-changer.

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Oleksiy Danilov, does not rule out a Ukrainian strike targeting the Kerch Strait bridge connecting the occupied Crimean peninsula with mainland Russia.

The top security official made the statement in an interview with Radio NV, Ukrinform reports.

"Had we had the ability to do it, we would’ve already done it. If there is an opportunity to this end, we will definitely do it," Danilov said.

This is a critical route for Russia's logistical support in the South.

Incoming newly-supplied long-range artillery in 3... 2...1...

I know you like to spout this non-sense because you don't have coherent arguments...but at the end of this, after all the death, destruction and suffering is over...Russia will control more of Ukraine than if Ukraine had diplomatically worked with Russia before all this started. Call names, make idiotic justifications, make poorly reasoned arguments...but those will be the cold hard facts.
There never was a diplomatic solution.

Putin’s goal has ALWAYS been annexation.

Isn't that a technical/legalese way of saying we really are not involved just to avoid the appearance of a direct fight between the US and Russia?

Why not just go all the way instead of these half-measure or puzzyfooting around?

Not that I want that, but just curious of what the reasoning could be for openly supporting sending arms and materials, but not sending in troops.
Some 20 year old stinger or javelin gets captured by the russians, no big deal. A 20 year soldier gets captured and it is a big deal.

Person>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>inanimate object.

How is this even a question about the implied difference? And why does it have to be a dichotomy?

Why is it troops or nothing from you?

Right tool for the job, yeah a sledge hammer can drive a finishing nail, but if you would rather not have to patch a hole in your cabinetry why use the sledge? But I am sure you have something completely absurd theory about it.

that, and its becoming clear biden has no interest in future reconciliation. theres no path to peace, just kill russia. how is anything supposed to get better there if we steal their brightest, and most fortunate? what about all those who never had an opportunity for higher education? we just leave them stuck there, with knuckle draggers brutalizing them? If we're set on changing russia why not foment change from within
