War in Ukraine

Not if you know Ras. He is adamant the Russians have nothing to do with the soviets. And you are in here arguing that they are one and the same.

Just trying to see if Ras stays consistent.

He is probably largely correct. I would say a large portion of the Soviet influence in Russia has died out at this point but sure, I'm guessing a decent % of their elder population and a very small % of their population overall may still hold on to some old Soviet idealism.

Manipulation by forcing Countries to pay for their gas in Rubles?
Nice you’ve already blocked the link that rebutted your “strong ruble” claim pointing to the obvious to anybody paying attention on how Russia is somewhere between artificially inflating the ruble to outright lying.

I mean after all strong currency markets always lock down their currency exchange and close their stock market amirite Larry? 🤡

How about the Tatars, Avar, Bashkor, Chuvash, Mordovans?

FWIW Donbass was 57% Ukrainian, and only 39% Russian, Luhansk was 58% Ukrainian and 38% Russian. So what about the majority Ukrainian population in Donbass, you going to tell them they are Russian now?
There are actually Ukrainians that support the independence movements of Donekst and Luhansk . Those would be separate nations from Russia. We've gone over several times why these independent movements came about. No need to repeat myself as to why.

I'm not the one claiming Russians and Ukrainians are the same ethnic group. Other people in here are. My suggestion for those people saying that is for them to go share their opinions with someone who is Ukrainian or Russian.

A nation consists of multiple ethnic groups.

The Soviet Union is what the democrat party and Antifa would love to see again

All WILL be well or CAN be well depending on how they handle the next few years. No doubt Russia has some work to do in the short term but they have a good chance of being better for it in the long term.

We know that you are hoping beyond hope that the Motherland will come out of this stronger than ever

So on the one hand you argue that the ethnic group doesnt matter, Ukrainians may want to be separate from Ukraine. But then you argue that it does matter because Ukrainkian is different from Russian, but a nation can consist of multiple groups.

If a nation exist with multiple groups why does it matter if Ossentians are different from anyone else?

If it's a pure choice issue and nationality/ethnicity doesnt matter, why's Russia trying to take away Ukraines choice. Both now, in regards to donbass, but also in the future with NATO/the west, and even the election of it's own leaders.

In this situation is you respect the wants of a relatively few Donbassians, you ignore the wants of more Ukranians (nation), as well as any donbassian that wants to stay. You are picking and choosing based on what agrees with your pro Russian slant rather than sticking to any predefined consistent rule.

Putin has been threatening this for weeks now and the meddling by the West has not only not slowed, but increased as have attacks on Russian territory. The Russian people are getting fed up with Putin's restrained responses. So, now both the West and the Russian people seem to both be provoking Putin into doing something stupid.
