War in Ukraine

Yeah now that he's out of a job due to his choice of birth country, he'll have plenty of time to overthrow Putin or whatever the **** his responsibility is now.

Why does anyone thing cudgeling normal citizens in an autocratic regime is going to cause them magically to rise up? Or that it's in anyway fair to make them suffer because of who runs their country?
We're talking about normal citizens suffering? Okay.

What other step? His only "sin" is that he's a Russian citizen.

I'm fine with kicking out any Russians who have publicly supported the war/Putin, but this guy shouldn't be punished for it.
I can go with a compromise of letting any player who has publicly denounced Putin and the war play.

Your first problem is quoting an article that relies mostly on philosophers. Natural rights do not include the right to practice human slavery, they do not include the right to hurt others. Yes I know various people throughout time have exclaimed "it's our God given right to xyz" it's not your "God given right" to own another human or injure them outside of self defense. It is your natural right (call it God given if you wish) to speak your mind, pursue your own destiny, defend yourself (includes others), posses property and be free from servitude.
I think society has progressed to the point of agreeing to call those natural rights.
Is it a natural right to love and marry whomever you wish?

Maybe we should tax Americans of Russian descent double? Or Americans that agree with Putin double?

This is absurd.

I doubt many of the tennis players playing under the Russian flag live in Russia. Pretty sure Medvedev lives in Monte Carlo.

Alternatively, these "Russian Non-Russians" could renounce their citizenship and become Westerners, could they not?

By your reasoning everyone is fair game when the bullets start flying.

Yep. Total war. The winner writes the history books anyway they choose.

Always been this way, always will be this way.

We're a specie that, sadly, is incapable of solving our big problems without killing one another en masse.

Sure. Think they can bring all their friends and family as well, to, ya know, protect them from retribution.

This is all absurd to do this to individuals playing no role in this.

If they're still Russian citizens, then their tax dollars are funding the Russian army, are they not?

I've got a pretty fatalistic view, honestly. Theoretically, they do what's 'right' and stand up to theit oppressive government. I mean, that's what we'd do here right?

One of them, last year told me "we hate putin. we say we want to kill him"(referring to her friends) she said this without me even bringing politics up. What are they supposed to do? she ain't got no guns. she works at a ****in hotel and lives on the 17th floor of a ****** apartment building in moscow thats home to monthly rapes or stabbings/robberies. Theyre already cut off from any support at home and nobody abroad cares either.
