The batting order I don't agree with. Batting your best hitter first to get him an extra AB could make a big difference in the long run.100% . . . They have more of a big picture impact on team culture than a strategic affect on the game. The impact of managers is probably even more diminished now with analytics telling us that batting order doesn't really matter, bunting is worthless and the 3 batter rule and Universal DH have taken even more decisions off the manager.
Freeman led by example or at least bullied by example if you take what Acuna said about him seriously, he won’t be missed except from fans like you who continue to bring him upThere are certain people in any organization who people will gravitate to and take their cues from - it's just human nature.
I don't believe I've brought the fact that Freddie is gone up since he signed with LA.Freeman led by example or at least bullied by example if you take what Acuna said about him seriously, he won’t be missed except from fans like you who continue to bring him up
In a positive way? I'm not sure telling a guy hey you've had 2 days off you're playing now would be considered positive.I don't believe I've brought the fact that Freddie is gone up since he signed with LA.
He clearly was an influential figure for the team in a positive way, what Ronald said notwithstanding. It's fair to wonder, not being a doomer, who that guy(s) is/are now that he's gone.
It matters statistically, but most breakdowns show that it’s nowhere near as significant as you might think. The difference between best lineup and worst possible lineup is 10-15 runs over a season. It’s not that you shouldn’t put you best lineup out there, it’s that we shouldn’t spend nearly as much time as we do worrying about it.The batting order I don't agree with. On the whole, I think it is fair to say the impact he had on the team was likely positive. That article was about a couple of anecdotes where he jumped on Dansby and others about taking days off, and Dansby seems to adore the guy. What I took away from that was that Freddie can be a hardass, but means well and is generally well-liked. I think we all know people like that whether it be in your family, friends, co-workers, etc.In a positive way? Paul literally told a story on air about Freddie making a Vet go do a postgame interview when we were bad after he refused to initially. I assume he played the “enforcer” roleFreeman led by example or at least bullied by example if you take what Acuna said about him seriously, he won’t be missed except from fans like you who continue to bring him up
I don’t know who the leader is, but the hand wringing over Freddie Freeman is getting weird.
It’s our own fans, Olsen is killing the ball right now and we have “Brave fans” on here wondering if the clubhouse took a hit with his departure when it was his fault he left to begin with. Makes absolutely no sense…On the whole, I think it is fair to say the impact he had on the team was likely positive.
