The thing about Russian History is that, at least since the time of Peter the Great, it has never been possible To REALLY tell who is running Russia (okay, obviously we will make n exception for the Stalin years). You always get the sense that someone in the shadows (boyars, oligarchs, the okras, the KGB, the Russian mafia, etc) is pulling the strings. We have no idea of who has the clout to remove Putin. As Churchill famously remarked of the Soviets…..I'm holding out hope that Crazy Ivan is not that crazy. Russia is in a bad position though. They've been exposed as a paper tiger. They may not even be capable of holding Donbas much less the whole of Ukraine. I'm sure Putin feels he has to get something out of this that looks like a victory. If he fails there is a real possibility his presidency and his life doesn't survive. I'm afraid that Putin feels if he can't have it no one will.
Kind of like how the oligarchs and political mafia pulls the strings in this country right? The thing about Russian History is that, at least since the time of Peter the Great, it has never been possible To REALLY tell who is running Russia (okay, obviously we will make n exception for the Stalin years). Ukraine only has a few hundred tanks. lmao.
Lots of second hand accounts of Russia strategic bombers flying into Ukraine rn,
At about @ AM eastern, adsbexchange was showing a B-52 over western Poland headed east. I thought the direction and route was interesting for a plane that can carry something like twenty cruise missiles - not at a point that it was provocative, but the position and direction could send a message if that was the intent. If the plan was to actually launch missiles, I don't think we'd be seeing it with MLAT turned on, and I'd bet the Russians know that, too.

1- Speed doesn't matter on shaped-charge munitions. As long as the force is sufficient enough to set of the fuse, it will penetrate. Can that tiny warhead with such low velocity destroy a decently armored tank with reactive armor?
