War in Ukraine

Now that our govt has admitted to basically being a fake news propaganda outlet for Ukraine, one would think some of you would have enough decency to maybe pump the brakes a little on your spreading of that propaganda....

Nope, you have no shame.
It is simply amazing to me that these people would not buy the Russiagate, Biden laptop lies, COVID narrative, 2020 election lies and countless other lies would now buy into Ghost of Kiev, Snake Island, Bucha attacks and "For the children" narratives out of Ukraine by the same people.

You arent fighting them dumb dumb, you are sitting in your easy chair behind your phone. You are, however, willing to sacrifice Ukrainians because you have been duped into believing this is somehow good for the US.

It's cowardice and evil, pure and simple.
You're calling people evil cowards because they support a country's right to defend themselves. You have so little perspective on life its pitiable. Why don't you go back to playing CSGO and not worry yourself so much anymore.

It certainly seems a good thing but for the suffering of the Ukrainians who are paying for it.

That said, I was reminded by a conversation with a precocious 10yo on the fallout of WW1 being WW2 and how each action seemingly independent, led to something else. I am sure many people were happy with the fall of the Romanov dynasty at the time but the vacuum permitted the Bolsheviks to come to power and that, with all its implications for the spread of Marxism, led to more misery and death than almost any other action in the last 100 years.

It is often difficult to tell how the war has truly gone until long after the smoke clears.

I agree, but for the suffering Ukrainian civilians.

I was reaponding to your idiotic notion that Russia can just pack up and go home.

You should have responded in a way that wasn't laughably stupid.

And they can just pack up and go home. Just because they won't doesn't mean they can't. Hard to understand how you can't reconcile that, five year olds can comprehend choices and consequences. Why can't you?

OK, does Biden's whatever connection to Ukraine make him (a) more, or (b) less likely to support the Ukrainian government/people with US aid?

Of course, but then I'd expect if a country were waging economic war and military proxy against me, I'd not be front-ending their nuclear agenda with Iran, but that's happening....
It'd depend upon the dirt and the scope of support, and who else has competing dirt.
I don't think superficial explanations are always the, or only, explanation.

Another good thread on the make-up of the "Ukrainian" forces...more evidence of this being nothing more than a proxy war with Russia.

What is your point in those Tweets linked? That Ukraine needs help against a superior for, gosh that is shocking but what you are really trying to imply is that it’s a force of genocide loving Nazis who are simply there to murder “ethnic” Russians. When are you going to rejoin reality?

It’s not that difficult to “buy” that Russia invaded Ukraine for fake reasons without being a conspiracy peddler. Why do you have difficulty with that basic fact?

Wow. Just wow...

MoD claims Moscow is seeking to ‘bolster troop numbers with personnel discharged from military service since 2012’

Russia has suffered such heavy losses in Ukraine it is now calling up soldiers who have been retired for up to a decade, according to Western intelligence.

The Ministry of Defence said on Sunday that Moscow was seeking to "bolster troop numbers with personnel discharged from military service since 2012."

In the latest release of Western intelligence likely to embarrass the Kremlin, the MoD said Moscow is also turning to recruits from the separatist region of Transnistria in Moldova to cover "mounting losses."

Ukraine on Sunday said "big battles" are set to take place in the eastern region of the Donbas, where Russian troops are moving after failing to capture the capital Kyiv.

"Ukraine must win," said Mykhaylo Podolyak, the presidential adviser, "and once that happens Ukraine will have a more powerful negotiating position."

The Institute for the Study of War, a US think tank, said Russia's soaring casualty rate means it will struggle to force a victory in the Donbas region.

"Russia will likely continue to throw badly damaged and partially reconstituted units piecemeal into offensive operations that make limited gains at great cost," it said.

Russia has suffered thousands of casualties since it invaded Ukraine on February 24 and its spring recruitment drive will not deliver trained soldiers for 12 months. Dmitry Peskov, the Kremlin's chief spokesman, last week admitted the army had suffered "significant losses", calling them "a tragedy for us".

On Sunday, satellite firm Maxar released images showing an 8-mile convoy of Russian armoured vehicles and artillery moving south toward the Donbas from near the city of Kharkiv.

The very fact you call it a conspiracy when Putin clearly laid out his plans and intentions vs the narrative you are getting from the media and the White House is the problem. You are now programmed into supporting us going into a hot war with Russia over Ukraine and popping this s^^t about narional sovereignty when you really don't give 2 f^^is about national sovereignty if you don't simultaneously speak out about the US occupying Syria right now and the Saudis invading Yemen. You are just caught right now between your visceral hatred of all things Russian and your sudden sympathy for a European country now being a victim of war. None of you gold and blue flag waving clowns would give a damn if this were people in the Middle East, Africa, Latin America or Asia. Also, the hypocrisy is nauseating and quite sad. Iraq, Libya, Syria, Serbia/Yugoslavia and Afghanistan can receive all kinds of western bombings for no reason other than protecting US/Western interests... yet when Russia engages in a military action based on their security concerns, now all of a sudden we are crying tears and throwing money in support of Ukraine. You all don't give AF about Ukraine. If you did, you would be for them kicking out these Western politically connected leeches like the Bidens, Kerry's, Pelosis and Romneys and looking to negotiate peace for them between Europe and Russia. If that could happen, Ukraine, with its vast riches, resources and geographic importance could be one of the richest in Europe and not a European version of Haiti or Botswana.
