This new rule is complete bullshot and a perfect example of why congress must strip federal agencies of the power to right rules and regulations. I firmly believe the 20,000 "ghost guns" recovered is a completely fabricated number and to me this is the most troubling part of the new rule.

The ATF proposed a new rule last May that would change the federal definition of a firearm to include the parts used to make ghost guns.

That is entirely too broad, that would open firing pins, bolt carriers and ext up to being subject to BGCs and having serial numbers.

Then you have this crap which I would bet a dollar to a doughnut has no provision for pre 1968 firearms.

The new regulations Biden will announce Monday also will take steps to see that serial numbers are added to ghost guns already in circulation.

The Justice Department will require licensed dealers and gunsmiths taking any unserialized firearm into inventory to add a serial number to that weapon.

For example, if someone builds a firearm at home and then sells it to a pawnbroker or another licensed dealer, that dealer must add a serial number to the weapon before selling it to a customer. The requirement will apply regardless of how the firearm was made, whether it’s assembled from individual parts, kits, or by 3D-printers.

Biden has saved us. Since "ghost" gun parts will now require serial numbers and, therefore, all guns henceforth will have serial numbers, criminals will stop using guns to commit crimes. I, for one, am joyous. Everyone knew that crime could not be committed without un-serialized weaponry. The use of un-serialized weapons is now against the law when committing some other act against the law, like murder, car-jacking, bank robbery, etc, etc. That will definitely stop it. Common sense has prevailed
