I ain’t putting anything in stone. Been hurt too much. Especially since my memory still haunts me from Dooley’s blunder.

Count your lucky stars we lost in 01. Miami would have destroyed us.

Don't let our recent run in football cloud your memory. We were stacked in 2001 with players including Jason Witten, John Henderson, Donte Stallworth, and Casey Clauson (who was a damn good college quarterback). That year we had 27 players on the team that would play in the NFL, including our entire defensive line.

The LSU championship game was a compete disaster (I was there). I believe Tennessee came into that game thinking more about Pasadena than Atlanta, at least I did.

We could have competed with Miami toe to toe talent wise. We had plenty of talent. We had people walking around with roses before we played LSU, it was the slow beginning of our downturn losing that game. We made a backup look like a all American. We were looking ahead. GBO!

That was the worst Tennessee loss of my lifetime and I should be thankful for it? I don’t think so. We probably would’ve lost to Miami, but We would’ve been better than Nebraska was.

I think you are way overhyping the 01 squad. While they were good, they were not THAT good.

I don’t think it’s a stretch to say that we would’ve played Miami better than Nebraska did. We should’ve been in that game, but we blew it. That Miami team was loaded, but he had some high level NFL talent on our team as well.
In today’s terms we were a CFP team.

Agree to disagree.

honestly depends on how good lsu qb play is. if their transfer qb daniels is good, it will be a tough one to pull out. on the other hand, i expect this to be a very good game.

If we win I really don't look at it as an upset. IMO the hardest thing will be playing at Death Valley. Weird things happen there, remember the Dooley game where we beat them then we didn't. Just another game, UT lost and a rule change (Ref standing over the ball to give D time to Sub) was added also the clock run-off vs UNC Music City Bowl. We would have won both games with today's rules but I digress (BVS is real sometimes). Will be hard to win there but with LSU having a new coach & new QB don't look at it as an upset.

LSU scares me. Ed was crazy but a great recruiter so talent is there and now they have a coach who knows how to score points.

On a side note I had planned to load up the fam and visit family in Lake Charles then go to the game. Had a happy little accident and now child #3 is on the way. Needless to say we won’t be in Death Valley but another Vols fan is about to enter the world. Doing my part to keep the fan base strong.

If LSU or any other team starts flopping on us, I have stocked up on my French's Mustard and golf balls. :p

Flopping is unsportsmanlike. Players getting injured is traumatic. I worked with a guy that was getting SEC offers and for injured and it was game over.

Flopping has got the hooligan fans booing injured players. That’s poor form, even for a hooligan. These guys are getting after it, full speed,

I want to see a montage of flopping on both jumbo trons. It should be exposed and put an end to it. Has SEC Shorts done that yet?

We could teach our players to flop right before a TV timeout and right after it, causing another TV timeout. But never flop once a series has started. Obviously you would Flop after every play too. Do that for one series against Ball St., of course make it look good.

Flopping is an insult to all the ones that’s ever been injured.

Let em flop. Our offense won’t care. 1’s on 2’s? I like our chances. A tired 1 beats a fresh 2. Let them sub. JH made so many look confused, I like where this is going.
