War in Ukraine

Who is obsessing? The comparisons made in the article were valid.

Putin is the one trying to harken back to the WII days with his de-Nazification crap.
Trump is Hitler. DeSantis is Hitler. Putin is Hitler. If it's not Hitler then it's racism, internalized misogyny, white supremacy, etc. It's always something with the sensationalist media and democrat party.

The tanks are more for our own peace of mind than anything. They will probably be some of the more advanced vehicles on the field tbh. The Ukraine army has gone guerrilla with great success. Putting power in the hands of it's soldiers and not feeling guilt for it. They are highly mobile. That is their success.

Today's battle field has changed to a more mobile and efficient battle field. It is highly dependent on tech. That is why the internet was built indestructible.

So the Ukrainian groups in Mariupol are kicking civilians out of apartment buildings or burning them out if they refuse to leave. Also firing on and shelling civilians.

Those drones are going to be devastation in the hands of Ukrainians, next to some of the more highly trained sharp shooters in the world. Tanks will sit high and pound anything that moves.

More and more, I'm thinking tanks are like battleships. They had their day, and now they are attractive targets, and you don't want to be in one when the chips are down.

You can get past the UK star streaks for so long before you run out, especially with Russian Howitzers spraying at you if you come from above.

The idea of offense and defense has flipped itself tbh.

The Soviets used aircraft like our P-39 as effective tank killers in WW2. The should have been among the first to see the tank vulnerability. It's a fantastic weapon on paper and against an army with small arms, but today it sure looks like a totally different story. Iraq would seem to support tank warfare as risky business, too.

This is something I would say to you, and not many others, The war has pivoted to specialized explosives that take out specific targets. It's not a "shot gun affect", and Ukraine is learning this with a high degree. They can hit targets from a great distance at this point.

I agree; with the development of more precisely guided weapons and more effective targeting systems, war has changed a lot from destroying large areas with dumb bombs. One thing I find surprising is that drones seem to be doing fairly well against an enemy with a real air force. My impression was that drones were only going to be effective in an area with uncontested air space. That could still be true, and this is just a fluke having to do with Russian aircraft and other systems.
