Was just commenting to wife about how nice the campus is. I'm a JC guy (ETSU alum) and see a bit of that, but it's also got a Carson Newman on steroids vibe. Can see why you like it. Not feeling all the black and red though.

I’m not sure why either. I have a friend whose cousin is an MLB scout. He said Vandy’s success does nothing for the college game because their fan base sucks. He said teams like UT, LSU, Mississippi schools are what generate crowds and improve the game.

I like and respect Vandy’s baseball program. I even like their uniforms, myself. But I realize I may be in the minority there. They have been the alpha dog in the sport for awhile. Tim Corbin is top of the notch.

But him thinking he had an ace up the sleeve with the bat sticker was pure loser mentality… lost a bit of respect for him.

Hope we wax ‘em today, 10-1 style. They deserve it.

Agree on the waxing that arse. When the sun is slowly setting on a program as it is with them, primarily due to NIL and the capital investment at UT and others (see MSU CWS results last season), folks do things like Corbin did to try to remain relevant. He miscalculated what the result would be.

Players' families are paying attention to the coaches that burn through players, primarily pitchers, to get the results they want. Corbin and Van Horn are two classic examples. Voltello/Anderson will not do that. As a result, they will recruit better than the others over time. Add in the new ball park facilities. Great time to be a Vol fan.

They're supposedly "tamper proof" stickers. They're not supposed to just come off.

I personally don't think they were ever put on by Vandy, and I said that last night. I think it was "gamesmanship" on behalf of Corbin. TV said multiple times, "I've never heard of stickers coming off, but somehow we managed to have 3 more bats without new stickers." And he said all the bats were inspected by Vandy on Thursday.

What would provoke the catcher to inspect the sticker after a huge hit like that? And there's been series with Vandy where Corbin, iirc, has requested multiple bat checks.

Last time they inspected bats they got swept. History looks to be on our side this weekend

I had a class with Chris. He’s a good dude. Yes, sometimes those guys don’t want to show favoritism, but privately, I’m pretty sure he’s ecstatic with the program.
