I am not at the practices so I don't want to make a judgement call.

I don't blame Josh Heupel for starting Milton if he looked great in practice, the issue is keeping him in the game when he continues to struggle.

This was the same situation with Jarrett Guarantano. He got way too many opportunities. Taking him out of some of the games where he was struggling would have helped.

I think the problems were not just our QBs the last 3-4 years, we didn't have a good running game either to support the QBs and give them time to throw. Heupel really showed his brilliance by running a unique offense to keep defenses off-balance and makeup for our weak Offensive line play. The quick offense kept blitzers from getting to the QB unlike the situation with Guarantano. I wouldn't be surprised if the Heupel offense slows down a little in the coming years if we can get a more stable offensive line.

I wish him the best and I'm pulling for him....This time last year the QB that many of us thought was our future is now in Las Vegas. I'll just wait and see from now on.

He took flack for running out of bounds and he should. He's not the first to have a major brain fart. Bet it was probably a mixture in the train how you fight and fight how you train. Bet he's been used to simply stepping out of bounds in practice and went into auto pilot mode at the wrong time. Even through all that...never heard the guy say anything bad or not be a good team mate.
I thought his passing looked better at the end of the season. He just needs to get out of his own way. He probably knows he has to bring it this year since TN has Jackson and Nico coming next year. Milton has the best staff to fix him if it can be done.

Saw in one of the hype videos that had him running, had the ball covered and looked like he hit the hole with some authority so that will be interesting to see

Mistake?? Based on what? That Jackson has looked good in practice?
If you’ll remember back to last summer, all reports were saying Milton was the easy #1 QB.
There’s practice, and there’s real games.
All the coaches can do is go by what they have seen.

Decision making was-likely the biggest problem he has, and it’s is a big problem.

Okay you obviously wasn’t watching like you think he had no ints so his decisions couldn’t have been that bad… he moved the ball in the short game well and ran the offense well he just was not accurate at all on the deep ball… the decisions were not bad the accuracy was. So explain his bad decisions outside of running out of bounds vs ole miss… and if tilman gets his normal lift the play before Milton would be a hero of that game.

JG was taken out two times.

The first time he came back and saved the season, in the middle of a would've-been loss to UK.

The 2nd time he never returned and we beat no one but half a Vandy squad down the stretch.

Not sure when else you would've removed him and for who? Lol. Dormady? The other kid?

He hits those deep balls against Pitt and doesn't get injured he's Hendon Hooker.

He ran out of bounds in the Ole Miss game. Everything else he was making the right reads.

Just inexplicably missed a bunch of deep balls in the two and a half games he started.

Even if I gave you that one, which I’m not because Milton literally played a quarter and a half, that’s one. You said for one. Where’s number two?

Edit: I don’t get why some people just have to complain about something. Milton played a game and then a quarter and a half and was benched for the year. Maybe you are a complainer and maybe you aren’t but I see it all the time on here where people find ridiculous things to complain about when no other coach would’ve done anything differently. Perhaps you’re stuck in the JG/Pruitt days. They were quite traumatic so I understand if that’s the case.

JG did have a decent year and rattled off a few wins in a row that year we beat IU. What’s funny is he played pretty good ball for a few games after that Bama game but then against Vandy and IU he was back to his old self.

I completely disagree that Milton is worse than JG. JG constantly gave the other team the ball and points directly via pick 6. Milton is better at taking care of the ball. Maybe it was Pruitt’s scheme but JG was way worse than Milton.

People have a weird obsession with hating Milton.

JG is the worst QB in the history of the universe and it isn't close.
