I am not at the practices so I don't want to make a judgement call.
I don't blame Josh Heupel for starting Milton if he looked great in practice, the issue is keeping him in the game when he continues to struggle.
This was the same situation with Jarrett Guarantano. He got way too many opportunities. Taking him out of some of the games where he was struggling would have helped.
I think the problems were not just our QBs the last 3-4 years, we didn't have a good running game either to support the QBs and give them time to throw. Heupel really showed his brilliance by running a unique offense to keep defenses off-balance and makeup for our weak Offensive line play. The quick offense kept blitzers from getting to the QB unlike the situation with Guarantano. I wouldn't be surprised if the Heupel offense slows down a little in the coming years if we can get a more stable offensive line.
