I just don't get this. If you win something and don't really deserve it and know you don't deserve it, is it really winning? Don't get me wrong. She can dunk. That is terrific. I cannot and never could do that. But to compare her dunks to this dude's is not even close under any sort of framework you try to put that in.

Equality is an opportunity to rise up and meet the standard. It is not lowering the bar for some and then rewarding them for performing at a lower level.

I mean a HS Dunk Contest in the grand scheme of things is pretty pointless anyway.

Still I hate the idea that you're taking the compete out of competition. And obviously I can't speak for the women who have competed and won said dunk contest, but to me it'd almost be like a damn slap in the face. Grade me the same as anyone else, if it's a 7 point dunk then give me 7s. The reason these women have entered is for the opportunity to compete and I'm sure most of them don't see it as a "real" win anyway.
