You completely misunderstood my post. I clearly said in the first sentence “like the Chinese do”.

I saw that sentence, but what followed sounded more like the same exploitative things we've done since the 1950s. Again, I'm no fan of the Chinese and their domestic policies and their control of a lot of our politicians, but I think their Belt and Road has a bit more mutually beneficial trade going on than exploitation.

Well, you see, like everyone else, I have opinions about what I see and hear. Opinions aren't facts, though they can be based on facts. And since opinions fall into the realm of being personal, I'm free to have them and at times profess them. And I accept there will always be some folks who get bent out of shape because opinions, mine or anyone else's, are at odds with their own opinions. Some others folks have the ability to just say, I disagree with you and let it go at that, or tell why they disagree. You, be all civilized about it instead of waging a verbal or literal war. BTW, I have an opinion that the arms race didn't start at the end of WWI due to nuclear weaponry, but rather began long before that with the invention of the machine gun.
