I wasn’t really paying attention with it on and saw what happened. Actually thought it was a staged joke until the audio cut out of Will going off. Knew it was real then. Definitely weird how that escalated so fast, but Chris should’ve avoided it. And Will didn’t handle that well, but talking smack about your sick wife on live TV can easily push the envelope.
She’s not sick. If she had cancer that would be one thing. She has alopecia. Who the heck knew that before 10 minutes ago? I’d be shocked if Chris knew that. If he did, maybe you’re crossing a line. But that’s still not a slap the taste out of someone’s mouth on live tv offense

Maybe it is staged, just for that. . .

I think the punch might've been but Smith is legit mad in the longer vid. He starts screaming from his seat and his face flushes when he repeats it. I think this might've been something that was kinda planned but for some reason escalated. It was probably meant to go down differently.

No it’s not. First, I bet Chris didn’t know she has Alopecia. Second, a GI Jane joke is about as harmless as it gets. Good. Grief, isn’t like he cracked on their open marriage or something.

There’s no excuse for that at all.
Exactly. I suspect Will was prepared for a far worse joke to be made and was going to do that as soon as her name was mentioned - heck he had a seat RIGHT IN FRONT OF center stage. That wasn't a terrible joke either, and I'm sure far worse things were said about others and Will probably laughed at those. It's Rock's job to make fun of people on that stage. I've lost a little respect for Will in my initial reaction to this. "Ahh he's sticking up for his wife like a man!" Nah, he couldn't take a joke and his "wife" treats him like sh*t.

On a related topic: I mean for God's sakes Chris Rock gets punched for that but nobody even attempted to charge the mound on Ricky Gervais a few years ago? THAT'S white privilege!

Kentucky was a legit threat to that happening, so the seeding was bad if that's the case. Unless you're just saying they were intentionally put on the same side of the bracket, which I would agree with.
Why ? Meeting in the finals would be much more of a dramatic ending.
If you’re intentionally setting up a matchup to maybe happen, do it right.
Not buying the set up theory.

It’s been known for a while that she’s had it, but it’s just a line not to cross. Comedians know a lot about other people they’re joking on cause that’s part of their process. I kinda laughed hearing it, but Will snapped. So probably not a good idea by Chris. But whatever, it was definitely entertaining and there will be tons of jokes about this.
