@Bassmaster_Vol

I knew the Braves would screw up with Freeman. It's just the Braves thing to do. Not that Olson is bad, but I really wanted Freddie to be a lifelong Brave. This sucks.
Me too. Really disappointed. Olson is a good get but it's going to be sad seeing Freddie elsewhere. Hope he doesn't go to LA

It’s really not that bad to me. possibly easiest Cakewalk to the sweet sixteen in the bracket of the 2 or 3 seeds. And then from there you’ve just got to beat the best to be the best.

I think most of us are more pissed off about the blatant disrespect that was shown and complete disregard for every metric out there (at least the ones that involve numbers, public availability, and something resembling peer review). Seeds are supposed to be something you earn and our guys earned the #2 seed with a ton of analysts going as far as saying we should've been the highest 2 seed in the field and others saying there's a better case for us as 1 than as a 3. The selection committee pretty clearly stopped watching the regular season in January right after they decided they were going to do anything to get Duke in as high as possible.

It's the disrespect, as-well-as the obviously unfair treatment for Duke. They completely disregarded their responsibility to maintain integrity in order to show favoritism to a school and coach, while other teams were shunned or disrespected in order to do so. Anyone involved in that selection committee should be barred from ever making another selection and have no meaningful responsibility for collegiate athletics again.

Man that's crazy. That means you put 100 on Gonzaga to win (not cover) and you get 100? Put 100 down for me!
Yeah, it's even money, $1 wins $1.

Can only do $100 max though. Its like a free $100. . . but I also have a 50% deposit match I haven't used. So I deposit $50, they give me $50. I put $100 on zags and win $200 total. . . basically a free $150. . . they give it as free bets though. Not sure I can use free bets on it,but it doesn't say I cant.

Clay is so wrong on that. That isn't cancel culture. That is conservative evangelical parents (and other social conservatives) not wanting her "impure" children around theirs. It's stupid and a child should never be punished for what a parent does but it stems from the traditional values crowd. Every one of us who grew up in TN (and other places) grew up surrounded by it and some of us still agree with certain parts of it. It's not new at all and has afflicted every small town in America since the Puritans came. People can say what they will about her lifestyle/occupation or whatever but they need to leave the kids out of it.
The stigma around sex work is hardly specific to small town USA, and I would even say it exists for good reason. But that's really neither here nor there. It's extremely naive to think you are going to sell porn for a living and that isn't going to come around to your kids in some form or fashion. I think putting the onus on everyone else to make sure that doesn't happen is a pointless exercise.

And on top of that there's two sides to every story. She even says in that link she likes to dress skimpy to PTO meetings. Uh, why? That's suspect as hell.

Speaking of jamming inside...one of the things that frustrates me most about watching today's hitters against the shift is when pitchers will pitch them outside with the shift on (which is also stupid of those pitchers, but it happens all the time), and hitters STILL won't go the other way with it.

If you want the shift to go away, it can be done organically without changing the rules. Make them pay for it. But that would require hitters to stop being stubborn.

And yes, I'm sure those who hit for a living agree with banning the shift. Just like I'm sure pitchers would agree with doubling the size of the strike zone.

I do agree that hitters these days are too damn selfish to take the single dribbler down 3rd base. Take Freddie Freeman, 15- 20 years ago you never saw the 3rd baseman end up in short right field on a shift to a lefty. Even though he has power to all parts of the field, they still load up the right side. They know his power is gap to gap and rarely does he ground it to 3rd.As I've seen it put, a lot of these guys are paid to hit doubles and HR's, not singles.. To a point I see that, but if you're leading off the inning, why not try shooting that hole instead of grounding out into the shift. They could add 10-20 more points to their average. Then if there's guys on, especially at 3rd they are not going to shift as drastically, then that's when you go big. But unfortunately it's the new age of baseball..Everybody wants to go yard and hit the gaps for doubles and Triples. Look at the Braves Ozzie Albies, who is built like your typical second baseman.But has 30 HR a season power and can gap you to death. Guys are so much stronger these days and with how fast these guys pitch, you just let the pitcher supply most of the power.

I think people are missing the point of the selection committee's integrity being absolutely compromised by blatantly placing a team (Duke) where they obviously didn't belong or deserve.
Agree, It’s way to political. It’s coach K’s last ride and they done it for that reason Imo. Coach K has had a great run all these years but it’s not about coaches it’s about the students
