Recruiting Forum Football Talk IV

Whatever gets crap games out of the sacred fall football season, I’m an advocate for. I hate FCS games.

I’m not sure how a spring game versus an FCS opponent will matter much if there is no consequence though. Seems both teams would roll out third teamers and we’re watching scout teams play by the fourth. Sounds good, just looking down the pike and see it flaming out.

I mean, head to TTU, TSU, UTC, the Liberty Bowl, the new Nashville SC stadium, anywhere. It’s not like this was a surprise. The construction was approved last summer which gives 9+ months to plan. A smaller stadium might actually be better. Heck, loop it in with the Big Orange Caravan, and have recruits invited to mingle with boosters.

Just a missed opportunity, that’s all.

Please quit bringing logic and planning to this forum. TIA.

Another "idea" for the O&W game: what's the biggest HS stadium in the greater Knoxville area?? Alcoa, Maryville, Knox Catholic?? Yeah, you lose some seats but think of the goodwill that you'd build with those programs. We weren't getting 100K into Neyland even if the renovations were done (let's be honest here), why not do an alternate site game a couple miles down the road??

O-W game shoulda been played at Nissan Stadium...or delay it a couple of weeks and have it in the brand spanking new Nashville SC stadium:

Not having it at all is sacrilegious and a missed recruiting opportunity.

Excited for that stadium to open. Games will be even more fun now.

Fans are not attending. It is only being streamed to Volunteer village. How is that better or has it changed since they announced it?

It's better for recruits. They get VIP treatment and they'll still interact with donors because there'll be donors attending the game. It just won't be open to the public.
