Absolutely love this. A win-win for everybody.

That makes it too much sense to happen.

Forces all P-5's to play a stronger schedule, which will help push the NC playoff to more teams.
As long as the FCS schools get a big payday for doing it........I'm in. If not............NO.

AT was developed before CWM. TJ - same, along with gaining experience in the position that best suited him instead of S. The rest performed at borderline SEC level or less. There is SEC level talent back there that has to learn how to play as a unit. It does not matter if an individual or two can get it done. The unit is only as strong as its weakest links, such as Burrell. To not replace him at the first sign of trouble is criminal to winning games.

Better pass rush hides back end deficiencies. Did not have a good one. As a result, they ranked #122 at 273 YPG allowed on 300/489 completions/attempts. Some of the numbers are due to increased number of opponent possessions. Some of it is due to the secondary giving up a boatload of first downs on third and long.

We've seen this before with CWM secondaries. Hopefully, it has a different ending this time. I expect it to be inconsistent and want to be pleasantly surprised. If they can improve it to the #80 range - which is 35+ YPG less - that would probably add a W or two. If they did that I would relax a bit more about CWM and Banks' D play calling. Putting Burrell on an island as much as they did was just not the right thing to do. When you see a couple of times he blows his coverage and the officials playing for the other team - you have to change your coverages/calls because they did not have great S play to cover for bad CB play. Banks knew it after seeing it game after game as did CWM. Don't mind one bit that they play for quick three and outs, turnovers, and contain to FG's. Can't do that without good secondary play as a unit.

Got to get better.
Shartinez?

My take on the hire. Didn't really look like there were really any top WR coaches out there or CJH just didn't feel any of them fit. Or maybe CKP was just as good to CJH as the ones that were available and has proven himself over the time he has been there. The kids sure loved him. He knows the kids and the kids sure know him and would be an advantage to have CKP come Spring than a WR coach that was new to the program. Of course time will tell but I love it when new coaches work their tails off and get that big chance. GB0!!

The spring game reaches a different set of viewers.

The diehards will go and the people that can't afford to take there family's to the regular season games go to the spring game.

I like the idea but only if it's free to the public and the smaller schools still get a good pay day.

How?

I don't think there's any governance organization that is going to enforce a FCS/FBS spring game, and even if it were, I don't think anyone would/can force schools to schedule stronger having had one? It would probably end as it is, with most schools still scheduling patsy games to start the season.

We do have to get better but we also knew that we had weaknesses all over the field…. We performed better than I was expecting although no where near where to be to reach our goals..

As for CWM…. I have heard those same things about his secondary and I do feel that his DBs have an issue playing the ball at times…. I looked up the stats though and our best secondary in years was when he was here before… His defense s ranked in comp% 40th, 10th, and 9th in the country….. the yards per pass attempt were for those same years were ranked 75th, 44th, and 26th…… By comparison our last two times we went to the sec chanpionship game…we were rated 65th and 99th in comp% and 72nd and 55th in Yards per pass attempt…. This past season we were 84th in pass % and 72 in yards per attempt…. By those metrics…. It seems like our secondary performed better during his years and maybe some of our fans perception is incorrect.

O-W game shoulda been played at Nissan Stadium...or delay it a couple of weeks and have it in the brand spanking new Nashville SC stadium:

Not having it at all is sacrilegious and a missed recruiting opportunity.

They are having "something", locally broadcasting it, and having recruits to it.

If other schools continue having them we cannot get rid of. It just is what it is. Unless all schools categorically nix them, aint happenin.
