That's what I meant by technology gains over time. Vehicles will drive greater distances and pull more stuff. It takes 10 min to fill up your car's fuel tank but hours to recharge batteries. Technology will cut that time down eventually. Sometime in the future, you'll be able to stop for lunch on a trip and charge to 100% while taking 30 min to eat.How are people going to have freedom to quickly travel cheaply around the country...or to pull boats and campers on long trips?
More supply helps...period.
Your not alone McGill, I make decent money but my wife doesn’t work. When things goes up I’m just like you, I get frustrated. It takes all I make for us just to live. Plain and simple it sucksI am screwed..I must be one of the only low middle class posters in this forum. What screws over and outrages me only aggravates the more prosperous classes.
What he is saying is correct in some aspects but what he's not factoring in is supply and demand. The more the supply the lower the price.
Not solely the US but if other countries increased production as well it would bring prices down. History shows us this.I did factor that. Increasing 50% of American supply would grow our total product to 30% of the world production from 20%.
A 10% global increase. Now obviously it wouldn’t affect prices 10% exactly, but there is no math you can do that would say it’d be much more or less than that.
My squad when we roll across the Great Plains…

He’ll replace the solar panels way before then. So he’s going to lose money in a big way would be my guess. My boss has 2 of them. Got solar panels installed on the house to charge them. He has a very small electric bill and no gas bill. Only cost him a little under 200k. I think he will start saving money somewhere around 2050.
They know deep down why we're where we are. They don't need us telling them. Please tell me where you saw the words Trump, Biden, Democrat, or Republican in my post. It may come as a shock to you but most of us are able to form opinions without spouting some preferred script. What I read or google may not be what you approve of. We discuss economics in both the Trig and Calculus classes that I teach. Sorry for the rant but the condescending attitudes of people who presume superior intellect gets tiresome.
We were a net exporter of fossil fuels 18 months ago. Are we now?
So let's shut down one source. That'll make things better. It's really not that hard.we are effectively net neutral on production. It’a splitting hairs to say the US is a net exporter or importer. It’s a a few percentage points either way.
The point stands. The US generates enough oil to sustain itself but we sell it to other countries.
Global demand went up and a top exporter has slowed what they sell and the monopolized oil industry is price gouging. It’s really not complicated.
I get paid mileage reimbusement that was at .55 per mile 3 yrs ago, which was pretty dang good. Today it still sits at .55. Not so good obviously. I asked my boss Friday when/if we would see a rate increase and still waiting on an answer.I am screwed..I must be one of the only low middle class posters in this forum. What screws over and outrages me only aggravates the more prosperous classes.
