Hi everyone, I don’t post too often but I’m in need of prayers. My wife just gave birth to our baby boy 3 days ago. He is now being taken to Vanderbilt for heart surgery. We are so devestated and it’s been so difficult to live with. We just are in need of a lot of prayers that he will be okay and be back home with us soon

Prayers for your son, your family, and the health care providers.

There’s a great group of families in the mid-state who have experienced similar. To my knowledge, they are very supportive of one another and a great resource for families who are beginning their journey on this.

Can't imagine the emotions you guys are going through. All the prayers your way.

Just wanted to let y’all know that they are moving my dad from ICU to a room with Hospice. Hated watching him go through this last week, but he has been blessed with perfect health for 86 years...worst he ever had was the sniffles or stomach virus. Neither ever stopped him. We know where he is going and great rewards are waiting this good and faithful servant of the Lord. Love you all! @VOLSONLY

Also, maybe @ob79 can offer some words of comfort. He and his family went through something similar a few years ago. His daughter, Ashley is a beautiful, thriving little girl now.

Sending lots of love and many prayers your way.

Notes from today's Big Orange Sunday show. Doug Mathews considers himself to be a glass half full guy so he is usually positive in his comments.
- Spring game will probably be in Knoxville. Initially thought it would be a Nissan stadium but now appears it will be in K-town and will be an event rather than a game. Didn't elaborate on the "event" and said would have more information in the coming weeks as spring practice occurs (starts Mar 22).
- Stadium update: Taking out seats in the North end zone so the new large vision screen can be installed under the overhang (instead of on top of the overhang). Reason given was did not want to obscure seeing Ayers Hall Tower from those in South end (river) zone seats. He had not heard that before.
- Recruiting: Lots of players and their families there yesterday. Didn't have the opportunity last year due to late hire and covid so this is the first year to reach out to juniors. CJH is following the Gen. Neyland and CPF recruiting strategy - 1) Focus on getting a high % of the best in TN; 2) recruit GA hard; 3) recruit western NC hard and 4) strong presence in Ky, Bama, and FLa. Ideally pull 18-20 recruits from first three. Likes CJH and what he is doing though the question remains if CJH can be a relentless recruiter. Time will tell.
- Said a rule change is coming that will allow the D to substitute after every first down regardless if the O is trying to uptempo. Feels it is a health issue as you cannot have DL playing 10-12 plays with no stoppage in plays. (admitted he is a D coach so he would like this rule)
- Covered OL and said Vols return 4 of 5 starters with only RT to be a new starter. Mentioned Jeremiah Crawford, Dayne Davis (said he was limited) and Gerald Mincey as the prime candidates. Said there are 9 OL who have 3 yrs or more eligibility remaining and should see improvement over last year (called last year's OL average). Said G-C-G will be the strength.
- Bill Justus mentioned freshmen played 92 of the 200 minutes in yesterday's game. Only 2 seniors on the team so majority of team could return. Thinks Chandler will have a problem in NBA due to lack of height.

So instead of penalizing fake injuries they reward those that do by giving them opportunities to sub, therefore penalizing up tempo teams. Saban is writing the rules.

Lol, I think tempo is stupid, and I hate that rule. Would make more sense to allow the D to sub after every incomplete pass.
