A New Jersey native, Baker came to UT as a WR, but was moved to Free Safety after the fourth game his freshman season in 2000; having never played the position in HS. He would go on to start 41 games at Safety. Baker had 31 total tackles as a freshman be was named 3rd Team Freshman All-American. For the next three seasons, Baker would help anchor the secondary. As a junior in 2002, Baker had his best season with 68 tackles, 2 fumble recoveries, 7 PBUs, and 5 interceptions. For his play, Baker was named 1st Team All-SEC. After recording 71 tackles as a senior, he was named 2nd Team All-SEC. For his carer, Baker finished with 233 tackles, 21 PBUs, and 11 interceptions. Baker also ran the 110-meter hurdles for the track team. Baker was undrafted in 2004, but was signed by the Bills as an UFA. He spent 7 seasons on 6 different NFL teams, recording 78 tackles and 5 picks.
