Hopefully they have insurance. You still lose when something like this happens but it would help immensely. Take the insurance money and buy a house double the size and have a quarter mill to furnish it in Tennessee. Just tell the rest of the people in New York we are full and they can’t come.Wow. They could buy a house with that.
I donated what I could. It's hard because you want to donate more, but when you're living on a fixed income, you have to settle with what you can do.Seeing the folks that donated 5, 10, 12 or 17 dollars made my heart cry, because you know that’s all they could afford to give and maybe really couldn’t.![]()
You donated a piece of your heart also with your donation. I gave what I could, just as most of us did. That is just as important to ZZ’s family as the money. I’m not ashamed to admit I cried watching it POUR in.I donated what I could. Any good renters insurance policy should include coverage for their belongings plus loss of use coverage (covers expenses for temporary housing/costs after a loss until they can find something permanent). Unfortunately most people that think they have renters insurance because they purchased the coverage offered by their apartment complex don’t actually have coverage for their belongings or loss of use. Most policies sold through the apartment complexes only cover liability.Yahoo.com has an article about ZZ. Said the 50k was an approximate amount needed to cover their loses so it sounds like they had insurance.
