It seems like you have some personal issues with Oklahoma. Biggest cheaters ever? Don’t think so. Did they have some issues with the culture or the program in the 80s? Of course. So did other programs.
You have the 2008 national title over OU. But let’s not ignore the fact that sCUMbag knowingly had a thug murderer on the team. He never disciplined. CUM and his antics were largely ignored because Jesus was your QB.
You want to share why your 1984-1985 teams, perhaps among the best in the history of the Gator program, had no postseason experience and a VACATED SEC title?
1. I didn’t say Florida was clean or didn’t have its own issues. A lot of programs do.
2. Oklahoma has done it on a whole other level for most of the history of the program. It’s not just Switzer. Although, Switzer is so dirty no one even bothers to notice any one else who looks clean by comparison.
As we are finding out with NIL and all the other changes, this isn’t new. A lot of programs did improper things over the years. It’s not like Oklahoma is the only school who was doing things over the years. They certainly were not alone.
But, like I said, Oklahoma did things above and beyond. They had to. So did Nebraska. Recruiting still comes down to certain basics. If everyone is cheating, then you really have to go above and beyond to get out of state kids to come to Norman, Ok or Lincoln, NE.
Miami cheated during the 80s and that was with South Florida kids staying in South Florida. But, Nebraska getting kids like Lawrence Philips from the LA, CA area to come to Nebraska. I mean, I want to be in the room for that sales job.
18 year old black kid from LA and you’re going to convince him to come to Lincoln, NE, when he can go almost anywhere he wants. Right.
And they did that with a lot of kids. At least, Oklahoma primarily went after Texas kids.
